If you have older Logitech hardware that requires Logitech Gaming Software (LGS), you might get an error with Windows 11 about Memory Integrity AKA Core Isolation or HVCI, a new feature that protects critical operating areas of your PC from malicious injection attacks while it is running. Older versions of LGS are not compatible with HVCI.
You can check the status of this feature in Windows Security, under Device Security, Core Isolation. If this feature cannot be enabled, it will give a list of drivers that are incompatible and need to be removed. Version 9.04.49 of LGS released on 2022-05-25 solves this problem, but you may need to manually remove the old drivers first.
In my case, there were four incompatible drivers that remained even after I uinstalled LGS and rebooted: LGBusEnum.sys, LGJoyXICore.sys, LGJoyHidFilter.sys, and LGVirHid.sys. The new LGS uses different file names ending in 32 and 64 for these drivers, and the old uninstaller doesn't remove them and the new files don't overwrite them, so they stick around. Expanding the details for each of these in Windows Security, there were referring INF file names indicated. My PC had oem39.inf and oem40.inf listed.
Here are the steps I followed:
1. Make a note of the incompatible drivers noted in Windows Security and their corresponding inf files.
2. Uninstall all Logitech software
3. Reboot
4. Open device manager by pressing Win+X, Go to the View menu, Devices by driver
5. Right click on each of the offending inf files, select remove, and when the confirmation dialog box pops up, tick all the boxes to force remove the driver files, then confirm Removal.
6. Reboot
7. Enable Memory Integrity in Windows Security and reboot.
8. Confirm Memory Integrity in Windows Security is operational
9. Reinstall LGS 9.04.49 and other Logitech software as necessary
10. Reconfirm Memory Integrity in Windows Security remains operational.
give this man a medal, this worked. thank you very much for such a detailed guide and explanation of the issue.
My experience was the same, had the same leftover Logitech drivers, only difference is that I had oem30, 33 and 40. Followed the instructions and was able to re-enable memory integrity.
Just ran install.exe from the downloadand perfecto!!!
The shifter buttons all work except the D-Pad and the stick.
The pedals aren't working.
The wheel works and all the buttons and paddles work.
I have the latest profiler installed after turning off core security, but that's the best I can get out of it for now. I'm using it on ETS2. So pretty useless.
I'm on win 10. So next challenge is win 11
Horacio Balestrini guide-
