For the future: Get your mods either from the Steam Workshop or the links in the SCS Forum:

This makes sure that you get the mods from the author and not from someone who pirated the mod and maybe even put a virus in it.

Are you sure it was the mod, which has no executable to hold a virus, and not an ad banner on the site, which you could avoid with an ad blocker?

Well, yes, it was the download link that was corrupt. The mod-file is most likely ok. Anyway, the thing is, that I do not want to take a lot of risks just to get a mod. I think I'll stick to Steam Workshop ...and ProMods. Thank's for your input.

There is nothing wrong with Modland mods that are hosted with Modland and it's google affiliate advertising. Most of those malicious sites are from when pirate uploaders link the download to per click revenue hosting sites.
Any hosted Modland file is scanned by the Virus total API and has a result link beside the description.

I have been using Modhub for about 6 years and lost count the number of mods I downloaded and have never had a problem.
Also, all my mods are scanned by my av prog before downloading and again, not one was rejected.
Just had a look at the website (never been to it before) and there are a hell of a lot of ads to click on by mistake. I thought Modhub had a lot.

I've downloaded a lot of mods from modland and other sites no issues for me here and all files is always on .zip or .scs so I cannot say how the files you are downloading is infected with a virus or if it has .exe extension means it is not the mod file that is being downloaded.
