Which version to start?
Ever since I own this game I wonder: When I fire it up it allows me to start ETS2 and then in DX11 64/ Direct 3D 64 and so forth....however I can't pin out which one will give the best visuals and performance.
I am fairly sure my rig can handle the game so I am looking to get the best visual fidelity out of the defaults available.
Thanks for reading.

i usually start the game with the first option
If your GPU supports the DX version the game does then use that , OpenGL is really Old and for old gpus that dont support dx past v.10.X . x64 is for 64bit systems ... newer systems w/win 10 . 32bit is what older systems run . Try x64 dx11 and if it works then youre golden and have the best if you will .

Always use the 64 bit direcxt 11 version if your GPU supports it and you are running 64bit OS..
Once you have selected an option. The default option always uses the last options you used.

While older hardware might still be able to play using OpenGL, that API is included for Mac and Linux users who don't have the option of using DirectX, as that is a Windows graphics API. ;)
Cool. Gonna try DX11 then. So the standard option is not DX11 but DX 10 or 12.
The GPU can play most of the versions i think. It's RTX 2070 so it is within the recommended specs.
Thanks everyone.

There is only one version of DirectX used by the game. Your GPU must support (at a minimum) DX Feature Level 11.1

DirectX 10 is mostly not used by anything anymore, it was only used to a limited degree in a relatively small number of games at the time that it was new. Things are either mostly going to use DirectX 9 (older stuff, but not *that* old), DirectX 11, or DirectX 12.
Yeah, dX 10 seems to be largely obsuce or so...maybe win 8
I went fo DX 11 versions...tho there is not much of a diffference to default version visiuallly.
In any case thanks everyone, hauling hope trailers for fun now and it looks as good as it can be I guess.
