Will this game help me pass a driving exam?
Hi, I'm from Lithuania. My country is in the game. I just started learning driving. At first I have to pass theory exam (road signs & lines, etc.), then driving exam. It's very hard for me.
btw I'm learning B category (cars not trucks).
Will this game help?

I think so.
It wont do anything for the written exam but it will show you how a truck moves and handles.
Plus, YOU'LL ENJOY IT!:steamhappy:

5 minutes in a real vehicle will benefit you more than a hundred hours in the game.

If you have the oportunity, you should drive a real car. But if you want to practice in a game, this game is better suited for that case:

If you're looking to learn the signage, and erratic driving behavior, ETS2 will help you somewhat. But for actual real-world road driving, nothing beats the real deal. Even if it's an open parking lot or a large field, you'll learn a lot more about how a vehicle moves from real life. You can only pick up so much information from the game, but it can be a helpful tool in figuring out how to get the basics down.

I'm thinking about all the signs and lines I have to learn.

Whilst this game didn't help me pass my test (written and practical). It did teach me a lot regarding trucks, I had basic knowledge of trucks to begin with and ETS2 taught me things I didn't know.

I wouldn't be putting it on my Résumé any time soon though lol. :longhaul:

It WILL help you to reverse on your mirrors - more specifically, to train your brain to instinctively know which way the steering should go - without thinking - that will leave much more time to process what your eyes are telling your brain. It will give you the 'edge' if you're doing your reversing practical under the eyes of an examiner.

also it might help with learning to switch between sides of the road - but this usually only gets tested when you're 'really' tired - usually in a situation like driving a left hand drive back from Europe into the UK - one would hope that you never need to test your brain with that level of tiredness and risk.

No, it will not help. It's just a game.

On a second tought... this would explain the behavior of so many drivers in the real world...

wow - that's pretty honest of you to include your own thoughtlessness as a factor in real world driving. Are you capable of a third thought or is two your limit?

go and drive a car - off road in a field perhaps - that will help you - pass - then go and get your truck licence(s) - then come back and tell us in all authority if ETS2 helped you pass.

The one any only thing that it might help you with would be reversing with a trailer, only if you are using a steering wheel, only because it's probably easier to find a trailer in game and cost less than crashing a real one into a building.

Might.
