ETS2 stopped working w/ gamelog
Hello All,

Yesterday I managed to repair my PC and decided to install ETS 2 with almost all map dlc's (no road to the black sea). Also, I was very excited to add promods to the game. The mod itself is of the latest version of which the last map DLC isn't required. ETS 2 itself is version 1.36 to match the promod release. Now the thing is, yesterday everything went great and I was playing for 3 hours straight. Today, however, the game suddenly stops working after 15-30 minutes. Searching the internet, I did find some things to try. Validating files, start as administrator, playing without internet connection. It all doesn't work and after finding out that this is a problem for a lot more people, I'm afraid that fixing it would be a rather difficult task.

Now, this is everything from the past 20 minutes, from choosing a save to the moment of crash.

I do apologize as I'm nowhere near a specialist when it comes to PC's and stuff. I'm desperate for a solution,( if there is any) and can provide more info if needed. Hope someone knows what to do.

Update your grafics driver. You can download the current driver from the Nvidia website. When you install the driver please make a clean install of it (i.e. uninstalling the previous driver before installing the new driver).

Not sure if the loading order of your ProMods is correct, so I advice to look it up and check the loading order.

That's why OP is on 1.36 as the version of ProMods for 1.36 doesn't require Rttbs.

I know. The thing is, in the past, I've had a lot of issues with the game. So... I don't want to spend more money until the game is functioning properly. Now I'm currently on v1.36 of the game with a v2.43 promods. It's the last version of promods I can use because v2.45 would require the last DLC. Promods is running fine. If I am to buy the latest DLC, I can update the game too... For now, I don't think the problem is with promods. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks for your answer.

So, if I understand you, I should go in device manager (Win 8.1) and uninstall the driver (or disable?) before I download latest drivers from Nvidia? When installing the new driver, I can choose to perform a clean install and the step you're suggesting shouldn't be necessary, right? Thank you for the answer, appreciate it.

The game is functioning without problems for me. Though I have to admit that I'm using a vanilla profile (no mods ever in it) so the only problems I find are either due to my hardware (limitations on the grafic settings) or are bugs that I report if they haven't been already.

But your problem is most likely due to your outdated GPU driver. See my first reply for all the infos.

Exactly. With the Nvidia drivers you can simply choose to directly make a clean install when you install the driver. So you don't have to manually do the other part.
The reason is because problems can occur if driver update is installed over driver update without making a clean install.

You can continue with your save. You only have to make sure that you have the correct version of ProMods and that the loading order is correct. But as 1.40 is currently in open beta I would recommend to wait until 1.40 is out of beta and ProMods have updated their mod to be compatible with 1.40.

The game was running smooth but after I closed game and PC it crashes again. I don't know what to do, I'm dissapointed.

Have you checked if the loading order of your ProMods is correct?

It looks correct to me.

Edit:
Maybe try with out the "More AI Traffic" mod or update it.

Here I am (again). Updated the game to v1.39 with all map DLC's (so now also the road to baltic DLC). Removed the traffic mod from the mod manager. Installed the newest release of promods v2.51

Loading order now:

Definition package
Map package
Media package
Models package 1
Models package 2
Models package 3
Assets package

STILL....it manages to crash (it stops working). It feels as if this game is not playable on my system, even though I have all the recommended system specs. I updated drivers, the game itself and promods but nothing seems to help. I'm a bit dissapointed.

It would be a good idea to create a new, unmodded, vanilla profile, NO ProMods or traffic mods at all.
The presence of so many mods makes it difficult to analyse crashes.
If you can get the game running and stable, THEN you can think about adding mods.
If it won't run when it is the normal game, post the new game.log.txt again after a crash.
Remember that ALL mods are unsupported and can cause crashes, EVEN AFTER they are deactivated.
