ETS2 Quest 2 - How to improve resolution and/or performance?
I've been playing ETS2 for years and got a Quest 2 last month. I spent some time today trying ETS2 in VR and managed to complete a delivery. It was immersive, but the graphics in VR were a little too blurry and choppy for me to prefer it over my 1440p monitor.

Some things I noticed:

1) Changing the in-game scaling from 100% to 400% did not improve the resolution in the headset like it does on the monitor. Instead, it just made it choppier. So I dropped scaling down to 100%.

2) Changing the scaling in Steam VR from 150% to 200% didn't make a visible difference.

3) Driving on the highway is pretty smooth, but when I hit cities it starts "lurching" (rubber-banding). Round-abouts are particularly bad. I can still drive, but it breaks the immersion.

My video card is a RTX 3070 and I'm using an official Oculus Link cable.

QUESTIONS:

1) How can I increase the resolution of ETS2 in the headset? Do I need to use the texture resolution switching in SideQuest? Or is there another way?

2) What settings should I lower to eliminate the lurching/rubber-banding in cities? I've already disabled VSYNC and Depth of Field, and as I said I'm running at 100% scaling. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks!

there isnt much you can do . keeping scaling at 100% is the right settings, along with the others you disabled is the right thing to do too . This game have VR use , it isnt VR if you will . The only thing you can change are the settings on your hmd software but theres only so much you Can do , its pretty crummy no matter what ya do .

The CPU is extrmely important for VR to avoid your exact problem, since you didn't list it you probably thought it had no effect.

So it sounds like my CPU (6 core i7) is the bottleneck at this point.

I have an ASUS Prime H370-A motherboard (LGA1151 chipset). When I bought it I think the best option was an i7 (6 core) CPU; it apparently supports 8 core i9s now, but I would likely need to update the BIOS. UPDATE: I just updated the BIOS to the newest version, and no problems so far.

In your opinion, is it worth updating the CPU on an older (LGA1151) motherboard or would it be better to start saving up for a new PC with a newer chipset? (Note that the rest of my system is pretty decent: RTX 3070, 32 GB RAM, SSD drives, SATA drives, etc.)
