Trailer Steering
Makes trailer parking a pain in the damn ass, especially on promods, it keeps on going and will not straighten up, thus causing me crash. Its do-able just not the best vs a trailer with no steering axles

Is there no lock-axle option?

Steerable axles on a trailer are a joke. They don't have those in Canada. If they have those in Europe they don't know what they're doing over there.

Of course they dont have them in America cause theres more than enough space and huge roads. In europe theyre necessary.

European roads, especially in citys, are often quit narrow compared to US and Canada. Steerable axels on a trailer is a huge help when turning in tight spots.
And yes, it is different reversing with steerable axels than with a "normal" trailer it takes a bit of pratice getting used to it.

By the way - we know excately what we are doing ;-)

It's just a matter of practice. :)
In fact, if space is tight, I often find it easier to park with steerable axles on the trailer.

Steerable axles on the trailer actually serve 2 purposes.
One is already mentioned by others in the thread, the other purpose is that the steerable axles greatly reduce the wear and tear on the material (especially on the tires) and thus also reduce the load on our environment.

Just think of the wear and tear on the tires on the front and rear axles of a 3-axle trailer without steering when it is twisted around a 90% sharp street corner, and at the same time such a sharp turn also requires more engine power (more fuel) than if the trailer had steerable axles.
- How voluminous would the load and wear not be on a trailer with 4 or 5 axles if it did not have steerable axles?

maggot44. I As CZ_bpk said we do know what we are doing. We have been doing it longer than the US, has even been in existence. OK that was with a horse and cart, As said before we have to drive on a lot smaller road's, tighter corner's and smaller yards. So maggot44. don not be ashamed that you do not have to deal with different and bigger road's. I have driven in the US a lot not Trucks but cars, and have seen what the driver's have to manage, it is not so bad.
Cheers.

My preference is for heavy/oversize loads and found it a real PIA to start with but now with experience and a bit of practice it is a real bonus and quite easy. As an example, dont know about vanilla map as I dont use it, when making deliveries to Scandinavian quarries it is a real tight fit getting in and out of some of them so steerable axles are a must.
I find that if you start with smaller amount of turn than you would a normal trailer to get trailer turning, reverse slowly to get give time to react, then put small amount of opposite lock on to straighten it up then just use small inputs of wheel to make trailer go in direction you want. These trailers dont need as much turning of the wheel as normal trailers I found.
Like all things in life it gets better with practice.
You could try putting an extended delivery time mod in so that you can pick up one of these here trailers and practice at delivery point as much as you want without penalty or just use quick save before attempt then reload if it goes tits up
