Centering the truck?
I am playing on keyboard and for the life of me, I can't align the truck with the direction of the road once I'm driving above 60 km/h. Even the slightest tap on Left or Right steers the truck by several angular degrees, while what I'd need is e.g. 0.3 degree change. Is there some easy, ideally single key shortcut that would align the truck with the road's direction (provided I'm already reasonably well aligned)?

Thanks for any help in this matter.

I use mouse for steering too (when I dont feel like setting up my wheel). you can still look around by holding the right mouse button.

I'm playing on keyboard and mouse. I'm using keyboard for throttle and breaking and mouse for steering and indicators. It's like on wheel :P

Sorry, that's not an option. I use mouse for looking around.

I don't think you could put curves into a keyboard press, but maybe someone knows of a third part software that treats does? The mouse is your best bet for steering and using keyboard to look around. But this game really begs for a wheel, any wheel.

I don't think so

Maybe with a mod... But I couldn't help you since I don't play with mods

If you like using the mouse to move the camera, there are two options:
- Use a key to trigger the camera movement, this way you can steer with the mouse
- Play with a controller, it's cheaper than a wheel and it makes more sense to buy one instead of a wheel unless you're eager to pay o lot of money or you play lots of driving games

Otherwise... Reducing the turn sensitivity just on keyboard would make it impossible to make sharp turns or to turn quick to avoid a crash

Edit: corrected a typo

Can you get trackIR? It's totally worth it.

I use a game mouse. Stear with the mouse movement, as well as indicators on the mouse wheel and 5 camera positions on the buttons. Lowest sensitivity on both mouse and in game controls.

Search for steering mods on workshop and SCS forum. I haven't tested them, but some players like them.

When I started playing ETS (1&2) and also other truck sims, I always used kB and mouse for steering. But since a year or so I switched to mouse steering with kB being for additional controls.

On top of mouse steering I also turned on automatic camera turns on when you turn to one or the other side. O. Wheels centered camera is centered, on wheel on max right it slightly looks to the right, so I can see through my passenger's window comfortably while still seeing the road.
It allows me to look into the direction I'm turning without having to use my right mouse button to look around.
If I do happen to look around with RMB, I can quickly reset my view with key #1.

Trust me, mouse steering is gazillion times better than WASD steering, so smooth.

I play with keyboard only. an old Compaq wired keyboard, and it works perfectly. :steamhappy:

Left hand for start, acceleration, braking, turning, right hand for look around, with num pad, blinking, wipers, lights, ...

To follow the curves of the road, :steerme: i press the keys lightly, but repeatedly, a bit as if i was doing Morse code.
For look around, as i said, i use the num pad, with "5" for get my eyes back to the road.

I play with stability settings on left n most things automatic, because of the 10 finger limit

You can bind a key to looking around when it's pressed. I play like this and don't have any troubles with :)
In settings there's a lot of great options to control the camera. I have turned on the following with steering wheel (I don't know how it's named in english) and on right turns I'm turning on following by indicator. ;)
P.S. Sorry for my english, I didn't write (and talk) in this language for a long time, but I hope you can understand me :D
