Rubber banding in VR possible fix for Oculus.
Hi guy's

I, like a lot of people, have searched for the answer to the rubber banding problem in ATS and ETS2, and if like me, you end up banging your head up against the proverbial wall. We have heard how it's either the software with Oculus or with the game but, I think I found out what it is that may be causing it, in part anyway.

First, check what your monitor or TV refresh rate is. I use an LG TV which has a refresh rate of 60Hz, so I changed the game's config, the line uset g_fps "0" to uset g_fps "60". Do not use the Rift refresh rate of 90Hz. The reason I'm lead to believe is because your GFX will only run at what ever your monitor or TV is. If you use Nvidea Inpector or not, go into the main Nvidea Control Panel and change all the refresh rates to match, ie 60Hz.

Now here is the one that seem's to have been missed. Bluetooth.

I started to notice that, say you indicated for a turn, as soon as the sound was activated, there would be a slight blip of rubber banding, so I start to investigate. Take a look, see how many things are trying to use bluetooth at the same time. Oculus does, for your headset sounds.

Well my head phones on the headset broke so I'm having to use a pair of Skullcandy head phones, and when I connect to the computer's bluetooth, I get rubber banding quite bad and the sound brakes up. Being a bit fed up, I removed the head phones from the pair list and connected them to the tv instead.

Impressed or what. Sound is now better but, the rubber banding is all but gone. Yes, you get the odd one or two, but as a rule, it's far better for both ATS and ETS2.

You can try this but at YOUR OWN RISK. I take no responsibility if you mess it up. I'm no expert but I swear it's a whole lot better.

Or you could just run the oculus try tool and tell it to run at 45Hz.

That's not the point. The oculus tool will then be giving you less than the optimum FPS. Been there, done it. I'd rather 60Hz than 45Hz.
