New trucks
Hi everyone,

does anyone know when ETS2 will add latest models of truck to the game??
Scania expanded their engine range powering up to 770BHP (we need more power)
MAN released completely rebuilt cab (which is smaller scania brother since it's also part of volkswagen group)
Mercedes Benz completely changed interior of the cab (removing mirrors adding screens instead and decided would be great to have 2 tablets instead of dasboard and radio)
Iveco released new truck also....
So does anyone knows are we getting these updates any time soon???

When they do. They need to get a licence first from the manufacturer. Then they model it and the manufacturer has to agree to the models. It will take time and there are no guarantees if any truck will or will not be added unless SCS say so.

no
You'd be better off petitioning the truck companies. It's all up to them what goes into the game.

Or perhaps not good to contact them...it is, perhaps, not so easy for SCS to get a sympathetic ear to begin with, a manufacturer irritated with inquiries, much less spam, might be inclined to just say no. As I remember SCS asked that companies not be contacted.

There have been rumours of a couple of different trucks for ETS 2 but no official confirmation. SCS don't really announce new trucks months in advance, rather they just release stuff when everything is ready to go.

Hopefully they will get the license for the Hyundai XCient Fuel Cell. This would be a nice addition to the game.

Totally agreed,

Only people who should be contacted is SCS but if they will want they'll answer here. And the ONLY people who decides what trucks were getting is SCS also. Only after they decide to add new trucks they will contact manufacturers on their own behalf.

If there was rumors that's a good sign already now all we have to do is wait patiently and pop out discussions like this from time to time 😁

SCS are very aware that ETS 2 players would like more trucks because this has continued to be a hot topic for a couple of years - it isn't a new thing.
There may also be manufacturers that would like to have more trucks in the game. Some of these rumours are from last year. We also know that game licences may not be some manufacturers priority just right now and SCS may just need to wait it out.

The recent priority for SCS was to get all the main American truck manufacturers in the game before they then move to add more customisation options like tuning packs and tires - Goodyear was leaked by accident in a 1.40 public beta before being removed.

It has been a bit hard for SCS to do research trips over the last year to get what they need to add new trucks to the game due to some nasty little virus that's going around.

Thanks for insights guys, yeah last year wasn't easy for everyone. And they had to delay Iberia i was really waiting to get it as personal Christmas present but we all know for sure we're getting it eventually 😉 so fingers crossed and let's hope for the best, the more we wait the more happy we'll get when we get it

A rather old blog post, but it does illustrate just some of hoops SCS has to jump through, to get a license to reproduce any of the truck brands featured in their games..

https://blog.scssoft.com/2016/01/truck-licensing-situation-update.html

And not to forget the licensing they had to acquire from Krone and Schwarzmüller to be able to make the Krone and Schwarzmüller trailer DLC's..

There is a possibility that SCS Software got licenses for Ford and Kamaz or they are applying for it. We have seen teasers with Ford's logo on the image on SCS's Twitter page, but it was a half year ago. Because they probably have (or they will) license for Kamaz, this can be the reason why SCS Soft is making Russia instead of Balkans. They probably want to add Kamaz into the game.
