Learn how to select and use the range and splitter options

Where I can gain this "wisdom" sparty pants?

There are only about a million YT videos on how to shift a range/splitter transmission
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXn2CjFp8Xc
As far as setting up your shifter and transmission in game, there ar probanly only about a thousand videos on that. If your transmission is shifting as you slow down, it sounds like have some automatic transmission option selected, which of course would conflict with range/splitter which is for manual transmission only.

As far as I am concerned I never used automatic shifting in any way. But I will check options and see what may cause this. But as I understand for now, in range splitter (1st from the bottom options for H shifter) there should be no any gear range change when I do not press any of 2 shifter toggle?

As for how range splitter works in real life I am aware of that. I only have problem in game to make it work when I want it to work instead of game deciding for me what range I should use.

My options are set to:
Adaptive automatic transmission = disabled
"H-shifter setup"
shifter layout behavior = advanced
Shifter fast split (advanced only)= never

Try setting it to the particular gearbox pattern you're using in the truck rather than range-splitter and see if it still does it

I think that I found this problem.
I test TS-XW wheel... why I mention the wheel? Continue reading as it caused this issue :/

I will explain what I found out. I had cruise controll binded to hat press and cruise controll to red button on the right bottom part of 3 buttons that are there (no markings as wheel have stickers for sustom markings that I did not stick to buttons) I assigned to shifter toggle 1
Where is the problem?
In damn Thrustmaster TS-XW
Button number 6 which is this red button is for some strange reason doubled and hat press is also number 6 button!
WTF?!...
So ETS 2 allowed me to use no. 6 button for shifter toggle 1 and also for cruise controll which I assigned to hat press which is also button no. 6 !!!

Whenever I wanted to use cruise controll then I also changed gear range without knowing.

I discovered this by assigning shifter toggle 1 and 2 to different buttons that turned out to be more convenient to use for me.
So I wanted to assign this red no. 6 button to something else and button next to this red button that was shifter toggle 2 (marked as "A")
So I binded some function to button "A" and wanted to bind something usefull. So I binded zoom interior camera to red button no. 6
Game notified me that I lost cruise controll button bind. I thought that maybe somewhere there was cruise controll binded to some secondary button so I ignored it.

As it turnrd out, when I wanted to use cruise controll under hat button I zoomed camera view instead of cruise controll!

Thats how I discovered what is causing this weird issue.

I have no idea if other TS-XW wheels have also this "issue"?
Maybe I need to try to update firmware as earlier I was testing T300 and I am not sure if I uninstalled drivers for it. Maybe some kind of issue occured as I doubt that this wheel was designed with doubled no. 6 button as it would be just dumb.

So issue is solved.

Who would guess? Right?
