What's the point of Remote Play Together on ETS2?

I think its great if you havent decide if you want the game or not, and lets say you dont have the demo. Then you can test it out together with a friend, plus its the closest thing we have too a sort of MP if you dont consider Truckersmp.

it sounds like it would temporarily links your games together, allowing you both to drive around on the same map, taking identical loads and convoying together.
at least THAT would make sense.
