Update 1.40 odd question

Have the system requirements changed in some way and by how much if they did?

When you have mods on and the game updates from 1.39 to 1.40, all those mods will be out of date. New lighting system requires modders to update there mods which takes time. Best thing is when you want to play in 1.40 version. Save or rename your folder in MY Documents/ Euro Truck Simulator 2 to a safe place on the drive. Either that or rename it to something like Euro Truck Simulator 2 version139. That way the game won' recongnize it. Then allow the game to update to 1.40 and it will create a brand new Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder. Now just create a new profile.

If not, and you go to 1.40 with a 1.39 profile with mods on it, most likely everything will look wierd. Cone of light on headlights etc. Any mod that uses textures is affected by new lighting system. That includes headlight mods, any truck mod, graphics mods, even traffic mods cause most mods use textures. This is why so many on forum are going bananas. It isn't always enough just to remove mods. Starting a new profile is only way to be sure nothing gets messed up. Then if you want the mods, you have to wait till they are updated to work in 1.40

You can run more than 1 profile. I have several folders named like below
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Euro Truck Simulator 2 ver 139
Euro Truck Simulator 2 ver 138
Euro Truck Simulator 2 ver 135

Withe the 1st one being 1.40. When I want to switch from 1.40 to 1.39. I rename the Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder to Euro Truck Simulator 2 ver140 and rename my Euro Truck Simulator 2 ver 139 folder to just Euro Truck Simulator 2. That is how I manage my profiles, there may be better way.

I don't use standard mods at all. Just the ProMods map for TMP. Also I ask about specs, not mods.

What is a standard mod?
You did not ask anything about specs!

...Anyway long story short.
ATS and ETS2 have recently updated to version 1.40. The main area that got worked on was game lighting, which basically has affected every graphical item with in the game.
A lot of mods do not and will not work with 1.40 unless they have been updated. This is an area a lot of people are having issues with.

As you say you are not using any mods other than ProMods and TruckersMP.

TruckersMP has not been updated yet, so you cannot use version 1.40 with that. You will have to roll-back or downgrade to "1.39 for incompatible mods" if you want to play TruckersMP. You can keep ProMods as 2.51 until TruckersMP has been updated.

ProMods has been updated now to work with 1.40 but as TruckersMP has not no point in upgrading yet.

To answer your question no, they have not changed. Both their website and system requirements on Steam remain the same currently.

I can see that much, but because it is new they may have forgoten to update these. Some devs forget to add them time and time again. Yet, there are changes.
I'm not worried for myself, but I have friends that ask me to do this, because they know they won't recieve an answer (non-English speakers). It is a complicated matter.
