1.40 Update Issue

I literally cannot LAUNCH the game because it keeps crashing at the start.

At first I thought my mods were the issue, but it wasn't the case since they were 1.40 compatible as they were shown on the mod manager then when i press on continue and load in on my latest save, the game loads about halfway through and crashes, so i went to remove all the mods I had and made a new profile, but that didn't help anything.

I restarted the game and now I'm crashing when the intro at the very start starts playing...

Unfortunately, you can not use the red/green indicator in the Mod Manager to know whether a mod will work or not. If a mod author includes a line in the manifest to indicate that the mod is intended for the game version you're using, then you get green light and if the version doesn't match you get red. However, if they do not include this version information, then you also get green as the game assumes the mod is compatible. In no way does the game actually know if the mod will work or be compatible in conjunction with other mods.

Please post your complete game.log file from the crash to http://pastebin.com (copy/paste, split the game.log if it is too big) and post the link to it here please. This way we can find out what the problem is.

You can find your game.log in your documents in the ETS2 folder as a default install on Windows. (If it is not there check OneDrive.) On a Mac the ETS2 folder is in your Library and there in the Application Support. On Linux the ETS2 folder is in the .local and there in the share.

Found the issue: (For crashing while loading in on save)

- Remove any mods that modifies the in-game graphics. (e.g Realistic Rain Mod etc.)

After re-adding all my mods back, I went on and checked for any mods that modifies graphics by any means and disabled/removed them.

Or if you prefer those mods, roll back your game update back to 1.39 and wait for mods to be updated.

What's happen with this 1.40 update? My game still crash after download my profile saving. II can't to play with any ETS profiles saving (with and without mods). I've reinstall my graphic pilot 2 times, Any people've same issues?

I am facing similar issue. Whenever I launch game and choose my profile it fails to lad the opens LOAD GAME screen. Site has ATTENTION notice Problem with loading the save.

Update your graphics driver. You can download the current driver from the Nvidia website. When you install the driver please make a clean install of it (i.e. uninstalling the previous driver before installing the new driver).

This game log is not from a crash but from a normal quit:

00:01:15.615 : quit

We need the game.log from the crash.

I have tried installing Version 1.37 it allows me to login with old save with some progress lost. Should I upgrade to 1.40 after Graphics Installation? Will it load the saves?

The simple reason as for why you can not find the game.log for that day is because it gets overwritten everytime you start the game.

You really have to update your graphic driver as yours is over 2 years old. The newer drivers work better and have a lot of security fixes in them.

When the game crashes again (yes, it has to crash, make sure that there are no other programms running in the background when you start the game) directly post your game.log to pastebin and post the link to it here.

Verify the integrity of game files. It fixed my issue with save crash after the 1.40 update.

What is using 11GB of your RAM?

Close some programms running in the background.

Your files are on OneDrive. Put them back into your local document folder as OneDrive is known to cause problems. Additionally you should deactivate OneDrive (please use a search engine for that).

One of your car mods or AI mods is causing the crash. Sell all the cars and remove your car mods and the AI mods.
