Major Performace Issues in 1.40
Hey all.
Since 1.40 update my performace in ETS2 (and ATS btw) are really bad.
Before the update, i used to have 200fps avarage (RX 6800XT + Ryzen 5800X) in DX11.
Now, i have 24-50fps in DX11, and 60-90fps in OpenGL.
Anyone here with the same issues? especially Radeon owners?

i have a huge fps drop too, since this update it is like chalk to cheese unplayable for me at 30fps
dropped settings to high from the simple graphics bar made no difference at all.
i7 6700k 4ghz
Rx5700xt

Hard: Ryzen 2700@4ghz/5700XT nitro+

Graphics: 400% scaled, HIGH/ULTRA, 200% reflections.

Getting araound 60fps in cities with heavy rain; around 100fps in normal conditions. At least in singleplayer i don't see a major fps drop... multiplayer is not ready yet.

Most of the comments here with Nvidia cards are "we're fine" while most of the Radeon owners feel some performance impact.
Maybe SCS tested the new lighting system with Nvidia cards only??

Im happy (and sorry) to see that i'm not alone here.. SCS should see this thread.

1.40 is useless at the moment.I have taken all my mods out and the game crashes as soon as I click on anything, this is the first time in the last six years I have not been able to play my favorite game.ETS 2 is out of my life and it hurts, come on SCS sort it out

i have a core i3 6006 8 gb ram and Intel HD Graphics 520

I have everything in low quality and HD resolution and I always worked at 35 FPS now with this update does not work at more than 15-20 fps is horrible to play like this ... can you return to the previous version?:steamsad:

I really wish ets2 will support vulkan. it boosts performance significantly on most of games I've ever played. ets2 suffers a lot of performance issue. and the dev have been keeping vulkan as hope since like 5 years ago https://twitter.com/SCSsoftware/status/705738751436320768?s=20

What are you expecting with your hardware? It was never made to be used for gaming.

I already know that and I even think I explained it, it just seemed strange to me that keeping the same configuration has lowered the FPS so much from one version to another ... anyway I already put to return to 1.39 if I see that is corrected I will return to 1.40.

Because the new lighting system is more demanding on the hardware. And your hardware is already at its limit. There won't be any fix for better performance for you other than getting better hardware.

**FIXED**
I have found for me turning off sunshafts has returned my fps, try clicking SUNSHAFTS to off, see if it helps you too.

Maybe, but my hardware is the latest, and lets face it - we're not talking Cyberpunk 2077 graphics here...
Nah.. we are not. But most (I presume to data as of late) have not made any upgrades in years. And right now it is a problem - no parts.

Just tried that, no difference at all.. i'm happy it fixed the problem for you, but sadly - not for me.

My game runs smooth, with Cip Traffic 1.4 & ProMods 2.52 activ.
No DirectX11, no Open GL. Max settings. 60 fps.
12 GB RAM. GeForce 1050 TI, Intel Core I7
Lighting looks more realistic, BUT much too weak during the day. Even with cloudy sky or in tunnels its almost invisible.
All graphic, texture mods as well as light/led tuning mods that are not updated did crash the game or screwed up the graphics.
About crashes or fps drops: I changed "r_buffer_page_size" in config file from 0 to 60. Since then no crashes & minor drops only in big cities in "ProMod areas."
(Everything I wrote goes for ATS also)

I am having problems with 1.40 ( too dark to drive truck at night ) and I have set my graphics to low settings on a 8gb rx580. I will not buy any more dlcs like Iberia (ETS2) or Wyoming (ATS) until the update 1.40 is fixed. Thank You.
