ETS2 1.39 -> 1.40 -> 1.39

Dear Steam Community!
The game called Euro Truck Simulator 2 automatically downloads the 1.40 update, which is good because I get the latest version for free. However, it is also bad. "Mods" for version 1.39 do not work with ETS2 version 1.40. (Promods, Rusmod) This is why I need to revert to ETS2 version 1.39. Here is the problem: 1.39 -> 1.40 -> 1.39. Always download the version. Also during the "Downgrade". I have already downloaded 1.39 once. Why do I need to download 1.39 again after downloading version 1.40? Why can't I restore from local storage?

Yes, you have to download 1.39 again.

Because the time you download an older version, it replaces the files, so you have to download the newer files again.

You can only have one version installed at a time, unless you do a manual backup of version 1.40.
