Russia DLC: SO if no one else is going to ask this, i will...

I havent understood this since the news i read the other day. Next DLC is going to be Russia. Ok cool, but.... Russia isn't part of Europe? It's part of Asia or something. The game's called "Euro" Truck Simulator, and there are still some European countries (Greece, and Ukraine for instance) that haven't been added at all. There are many more much older ones (germany and poland for instance), that look like crap compared to the vibrant DLC). I'd much rather see those places added so I could drive through the ancient city of Athens, or Kyiv rather than some back of beyond country outside of the title's geographical scope....

Did the Kremlin bribe SCS to put it in? (joke, but maybe not really)

You have to also remember there is a large proportion of Russian players and modders. So I think SCS are being a bit wise there. Try to snag more people from that region to fund future development.

Greece is not the only country missing by the way. the Balkans and ireland are missing too.

And some countries might need a little love.
They announce proudly how Iberia is their biggest content with a guge area and lot of cities.

While ironically France, which is the actual biggest western country has less content...

What's the problem with Russia?
I like the idea of making Hearts of Russia DLC. I love the country and Russia has an european continent part. In my case I prefer to drive through Russia than another european countries.

well, Russia is a transcontinental country, The Ural Mountains are considered to be the eastern boundary of Europe(in that Northern region). Hence, the land of Russia which is West to Urals is in Europe, and the land East to Urals is in Asia.
So if the game expands into the European Russia, then it still totally satisfies it's title "European Tru...." since that expansion is still in Europe.
Just like in Turkey, the Thrace region(the small region west to Istanbul) is part of Europe, while Anatolia(the bulk of Turkey) is part of Asia. The game has expanded to include Thrace in the Road to the Black Sea DLC, but it clearly excluded the Anatolia region.
Same case will be there in Russia DLC

Game would die if devs would stop adding map expansions, even if its not europe. Who cares if its not europe?

I don't mind where it is actually as long as the content keeps coming and is of the usual high standard we get now. My ideal would be to connect up a route around the Black Sea as I think that would work well.

I don't care about the name of the game or having every country in that continent, if they wanted to do a North African country or something else next that would be fine.

Also I would like to see Ireland added as free content with a UK make-over in a future update, I think we had one recently Corsica added and Germany had some updates as well recently. Having the Scandinavian country's finished off would also be wise.

Boy, the op seems to have an axe to grind with Russia or something. I personally would love a Russia dlc. It will certainly be a smart move by SCS because not only Russia is partly considered a European nation, it also has, like someone stated here, many ETS2 fans. I do agree that Greece has been criminally forgotten which is unbelievable considering that Greece is historically speaking one of the most influential civilizations in history.
