Driving in this game is harder than in real life
I mean with a wheel. Change my mind if you want to.

I use a wheel and pedals (G29) and don't have any problems.
Just curious: how much of the map have you done since you have only 39 hours played?

How long did you drive IRL?
I drove for 10 years, been all over the US.

Have you ever drove a truck IRL ? I was once with an uncle in a truck at winter, and he had to correct the trajectory (sometimes) against the direction of the wind. This is just an example, but there are many other factors you have to consider IRL, that just can't be replicated in a simulator.

Real driving is easier imho, but as far as a job goes, real trucking is much harder than the game.
I have experience as a truck driver irl and though there was the occasional hickup, touching a small pole here or there in dense cities like Amsterdam where turning is difficult, heck, even crashed into another car once, but that's nothing compared to the times i crashed into, or got crashed into in the game, and i do more or less play by the rules.
the number of times i ran into another trailer, or a fence when backing up at a drop off location in game are countless, not because i'm a terrible driver, but the view via the mirrors is terrible compared to that in real life, depth is difficult to tell.
etc, etc, ...

Of course real driving is easier. There's a million things going on that give you tons of information to help you drive. In game there is a severe lack of sensory information.

Well, the depth of view quality in the mirror doesn't change when i connect all 3 screens to the game, but i guess it's more using a head tracker causing the mirror to "move" (if you will) as soon as my head moves a bit, no stable view, where as in a real truck (or not using a head tracker) it's easier to have a stable view of the mirror.
It's a bit of give and take with the settings of the head tracker i use, just can't have it all perfect.

I disagree... I am a driver of firetruck, not even that big like normal trucks with trailers are and it is totally more harder in every aspect :-D Shifting is not that smooth and good like there, there is so much fear, of what you will broke or crash, especially in those small tiny streets and roads, wind, bad geometry, terrain tires, braking with water in the tank... A lot of damn things that are so damn hard :-DD Maybe yea, driving of classic truck in most of the time on the highway could be better, but still i am not that sure of it :-D
