Second Garage Location
Hey,
I have recently started playing ETS 2, and I have gotten enough money to start expanding, and the first step for me is to buy another garage. I know that it is not very important where the garage is located but I would still like to know a great place where I could buy my garage. I have heard Berlin, Luxemburg (because of cheap fuel) and Salzburg. What do you think would be the best option? Thanks!

Especially in the beginning, it does not really matter where you buy your first garages.

This is because your employees love to sail by ferry when they can get to it.
- And partly there are expenses for using the ferries, but they also do not earn xp while sitting and lazing on the ferry.

Therefore, you should initially choose garages far from ferries.

Regarding fuel prices, I am making a list of the different countries' diesel prices (which unfortunately are not quite complete yet):
Diesel prices
Estonia: € 1.06
Latvia: € 1.06
Lithuania: € 1.00
Poland: € 0.99
Russia: € 0.52
Czech Republic: € 1.04
Slovakia: € 1.07
Hungary: € 1.09
Germany: € 1.22
Denmark: € 1.29
Sweden: € 1.49
Finland: € 1.34
Italy: € 1.33
Switzerland: € 1.35
Austria: € 1.04
Spain: € 1.09
France: € 1.31
England: € 1.35

If you have the Scandanavia DLC, get the garage in Bergen and take the Northern Road out of there, going towards Oslo.
A very pretty and challenging run.

I wouldn't worry about fuel prices too much, soon you'll get enough money to not even notice it, i'd recommend getting a garage in one of the Scandinavian countries, like Bergen in Norway if you have the DLC. If i'm correct gas prices also change randomly. Soon if you work hard you'll have multiple garages with drivers and you'll make a easy passive income, just be careful while driving and be smart about your money. ONLY get a loan if you know you can pay it back. They will repossess your property's.

More importantly it makes absolutely zero sense to locate a garage in order to get cheaper fuel - you spend €300,000 to pay for a fuel pump in order to get a lower price fuel in a location that you'll only visit occasionally and save at best a few dozen euros?

As to where for your garage, pick anywhere that takes your fancy. If you pick a bad location you'll still be rolling in money soon enough and there are no real rewards in this game for minmaxing.
There's an achievement for owning garages in every city of your starting country; could be another way to look at it?

Personally I like to think "what's the most connected to places I haven't explored yet" or "where do I like to visit that's far from any of my bases so far" and go from there.

I used to buy garages where there are more jobs, you can check in the job section... For Example, in Italy I prefear to expand in Rome or Neaples (where you also have more connections) than smaller near places like Cassino; even if sometime the drivers get back empty, with no jobs...

I remember my 1st real garage was in Innsbruck (Austria) but then I moved to a bigger city (can't remember if Wien or something else...) where there was more work to do.

That was my tactics, then it's up to you, I'm sure that also skilled drivers-employeers could make a difference

But your hired hands don't use the Freight Market, that is exclusively for the player driver, and it genuinely seems to make no difference where you locate your garages - the process of assigning jobs to your employees is effectively a series of dice rolls (ie. the random number generator doing its thing) no more, no less.
