You can't atm in the current version, but if you must, go to your Steam Library, right click on Euro Truck Simulator 2, select "properties", in the popup window click on the "betas" tab, in the dropdown menu select the version you want to use, wait for the Download to finish, play ets2.

Keep in mind that it's best to make a new profile and don't use any mods (except a jumpstart mod to get the trucks and trailers you need, but disable that mod when you have what you want).

You can't use any mods on Convoy (atm).

Also, your friend needs to live in the same area of the world as you do, if you are in South Africa and your friend is in Iceland, that's probably a no go, unless you use a vpn

But remember: It is strongly recommended that once a profile has been used for TruckersMP, it should never be used for single player games again.
Regarding 1.41 Beta as @ Underscore_101_3 mentions ...
Here you should be aware that once you have upgraded a profile to 1.41 Beta you can not downgrade again (that is why it is recommended to use a new profile for it)

Convoy was first added in ATS actually before they made it available in ETS2, so yes, it also works in ATS.

Are you on public beta 1.41?.

Or do you mean TruckersMP?.

You must activate the 1.41 beta version, or wait some days that the beta goes to release to current version.

Read carefully this line before use the beta:
We highly recommend that you backup your profiles or use a fresh one, because the save-game version from this branch will make any profile incompatible with the current non-beta version of the game.
