XXXXXXXX
I have used a mod, called "No Boundaries," for a very long time which removed the sight of the XXXXXX barriers on side roads and dead ends. It was a purely cosmetic effect. It certainly made some of the more complex interchanges more challenging to negotiate but I think it looked a lot better without seeing the XXXXXXXs.

Anyway, No Boundaries seems to have been removed from the Steam Workshop recently and I was wondering if anyone knew of a replacement mod that did the same thing? It would be brilliant if SCS could turn the XXXXXX visibility on/off in the gameplay menu... hint, hint.

You do not need a mod anymore, if you have the console active you can hide them with this command.
g_show_game_blockers 0

Or you can edit your config in your Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\Profiles\[XXXXXXX]\
Look for uset g_show_game_blockers "1"
and change the value in quotes to 0

Thank you very much! That's just the information I was after!

Yeah, I was using a mod before. Now I just use g_show_game_blockers 0

Actually, I can't find that line "uset g_show_game_blockers" in my config.cfg file.

Documents / Euro truck Simulator / Profiles

If you have more than one profile you will need to change that line in each and save.

Morning All.
I have looked in both ETS 2 and ATS at profiles.
I can not see that line in either of them, what does that mean.
Thanks

@Alabama if you have cloud save enabled for your profiles the config.cfg you need to edit is located in (default location)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[longnumber]\227300\remote\profiles\xxxxxxxxxx <- profile number folder.

For local storage profiles the default location is
Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\Profiles\xxxxxxxxx

The line you need should be located around the 20th line.
Hope this helps
K

Just be aware that doesn't remove the invisible barriers, so you may be in for a suprise when you're not following the gps, or for example if you need to make a really wide U-turn.

I'm using this mod for ETS2: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=251613
Old, but still works.

I have gone to mod, i am always worried i will

Thans again.

I am using this one, as I didn't like the huge X marks but still want some sort of slight indication before I veer off into an invisible wall. Gives me best of both worlds, sort of.

Nothing can go wrong with the advice Karlia gave, i just pointed out that the invisible walls are still there, and from personal experience, that's a hazzard waiting to cause mayhem on my truck, i don't always pay attention to the satnav and sometimes go on a road i shouldn't. Actually,... the other day i just followed traffic taking a left into a dead end road where i was suposed to go straight, don't know where my mind was, but certainly not following the satnav.

I have experienced this often enough that I now supplement the game's autosave with my own "Driving" quick save whenever I come up to a complex interchange where I feel that my navigation is doubtful. Some of those parallel roads in the new Iberia map, for instance.... But I would still rather have no visible barriers, all the same.

@Martial.Lore my quick save button is on another wheel and i can't be bothered adding it to my buttonbox :-)
