I know, but i missed the last sale and i think after many years of expensive price tags its time to lower them to a propper level, its just crazy how they can offer for a tiny map extension 18€.
If you compare Iberia with lets say Scandinavia you musst agree that it doesnt fit its price, Scandinavia in this case is even a good case for SCS because they just have to make a update wich contains alot more northern areas or/and Finnland, Scandinavia gives SCS alot of room to justify the current price in future but France and Italy are never 18€ worth it.
In the end it all balances out and SCS will reskin the base map and probably Going East too. With some luck they will also push north towards and just past the Arctic Circle.
There is tons of additional free content that the game gets with every update, so I think that longer term players find great value in a game that is still enjoyable to play and is still supported with additional content as frequently.
By your logic, the newer DLCs should cost MORE than those previous DLCs. ;)
But I don't compare them because the older DLCs were made before SCS had developed their better style and more robust tools and prefab construction techniques and they are going back over the older areas to bring them somewhat up to current quality for free.
I get that some will say we should support SCS. I'm sorry, I am not paying full price to:
"Explore mountainous areas with a wide range of colorful rocks"
...just no. Spain and Portugal are some of my favorite regions. If all you've got are a few recognizable landmarks and rocks though, I can wait.
Tbh i didnt expected anything else, i mean SCS force you to buy Going East to have access to Beyond Baltic Sea and Road to the Black Sea meanwhile Going East is known as the (if you want) worst map extension from all and could/should be part of vanilla ETS2, how i wrote above they could add Belarus and make it 17,99€ worth it but now its just too small and too low quality even if they change something for free in view of quality.
You aren't forced to buy any DLC; Going East is not required to access either Beyond the Baltic or Road to the Black Sea.
Going East was the first map DLC. And was made before they got into their stride and will, as I said, be updated in time, for free. Too many people expect progress at lightning pace and are too quick to criticize when their unrealistic expectations are not met.
No, Beyond Baltic Sea can only entered by ferry from Germany and Road to the Black Sea cant accessed without Going East, when you charge for Iberia (a good map extension) 17,99€ you simply cant charge for less the same price, i am interessted that ppl get something for their money and this is for the most ETS2 map extensions not the case.
Btw ETS2 costs 19,99€ and tiny map extensions like Scandinavia 17,99€, for few € more i get ETS2, the price tags for the map extensions are crazy and nobody can denie this.
- But: If you do not have "Going East" you can of course only run local jobs in the "Road to the Black Sea" area, but not to other maps.
When there are sales, the oldest maps "Going East" and "Scandinavia" are actually also the ones that are the cheapest, if I remember correctly.
