Change modded save to vanill
Hi,

I started to game with promods enabled but I'm wondering if I disable all mods and change to vanilla, do I get any errors with my current save file?

As for making it Vanilla, as above, that's not how Vanilla works. Vanilla is the lack of ever having mods on it. You can't reverse that process.

As for will it work? Yeah. I accidentally load my ProMods profile all the time when testing things quickly while I have my mod folder swapped out. It does produce errors, but most of the time it deals with it nicely assuming there's no other mods(like trucks/trailers/custom content). But the game REALLY doesn't like it and could end up corrupting it if you do it too much.

In short, keep modded profiles separate. It's relatively quick and easy to start a new profile and a much safer idea overall.

If you just use ProMods then most probably not once you have accepted the warning of missing mods. I have done this before and all was OK.

Iif you use other mods then maybe, depends on what they do in the game.

If the mods change the trucks/trailers or parts of the trucks/trailers then you must sell all modded parts and bring back to a standard SCS truck and/or trailer.
Easiest way to do this is sell you trucks and trailers and get a standard one.
Now you can remove the mods.

Easiest way is to create a new profile as all modded profile can leave artefacts behind.
Plenty of mods that you can use to boost your XP and money at the start of the game if you so wish.

Always have a standard/vanilla profile available to play as it should always work when game changes happen.
Once you level up your vanilla profile so everything is available there are tutorials that show how to copy you existing profile and create a new profile with the same XP money etc. but with a new name you could then use this as a base to test mods etc.

Always, always keep a vanilla profile.

Once your profile had mods on it, it is no longer vanilla even if you remove the mods as they can leave remnants behind. A vanilla profile is a profile which never had any mods in it.

So removing the mods will mean that you play unmodded but not vanilla. That also means that this profile is not usable for bug reports.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thank you. Seems like I should create a new profile :)
