How realistic are the truck prices?
Are they close to their real life prices?
Also, what about other stuff like job payment, trailer cost, repairs, etc.

I tried searched on the internet bout this topic, but it was kinda confusing.

Mostly realistic i think, job payment though is way overpriced, i have my 'income factor' in the console set to 0.1 where the default is 1.0 more realistic....and harder! Malc.

You set 0.1 for more realistic?

Yes, it means you earn less for each job you do making it harder to progress especially when you get accident and speeding fines and of course repair bills.

How can I do that and does it work for external contracts?

I think you will find what Maestro is meaning is... "is that all you set it for?", you need to drop that until you see on average €0.85 EUR per km for 20 tonne load.
Try something like income factor 0.035 and you will be getting close to the ballpark of "Realistic" freight prices. It will still be inflated at the high end and some jobs will be uneconomic at the low scale but that is how it works.

Does that mean my truck drivers will earn less too? And does it work for external contracts

Ohh yes Dak0 it is global, you may find it will sap the fun out of the game for you to be honest, nothing like a bit of easy money even if it is not real :) but if you want a real hard grind, try it out as it is only a config setting so it can be set to any level you wish.

Yes it work for external contracts

You can surely change the economy to more realistic prices, but the main reason it is how it is currently is so it doesn't take you forever to get the truck(s) you want and garages, etc. I would use it maybe once you get all the trucks and garages you want for now and don't need to make so much money so quickly. Just my opinion though.

You can change it in the 'config' file from 1.0 to 0.1 for example, your choice, or you can just bring up the console and type g_income_factor 0.1 to change it.

You can use the ETS2 Studio to set the amount of money of your drivers

that sound insanely time consuming, but im kinda interested.

so, a trucker actually achieving something like we do in the game is rather insanely hard to do in a single lifetime?
that being having a small company, starting from nothing.
