Retarder activated and wont shut off

Just recently, every time I start away from a stop I get an alert saying the automatic retarder is on, and to push "." to deactivate. I do this but it never goes away. I also like to use cruise control, which until recently was the "c" button, but now when I press "c" I get the retarder alert. I'd like to get rid of this retarder alert and get my cruise control back. I do NOT have the automatic retarder box checked in options, and I have reset the "c" button assignment many times. Any ideas?

It's actually telling you to push ' (apostrophe), not . (period). :)

If you're having trouble locating the key on your keyboard; just reconfigure the binding to the + and - keys on the numpad to make things easier. Then you can simply disable the retarder by hitting the - key.

press the retarder button a few times, it should sort itself after that. i had this issue once and i had to look up through previous thread to find that answer.

It is also incremental, so if you hit the key 3 times , you also need to cancel it 3 times....

For me, it says: Use key to deactivate: (nothing)
