Traffic Jams or any road events?
I've played for ~7 hours now and it has been pretty smooth sailing on the roads, are there any traffic jams that can happen? If not, are there any sort of mods that might add these events? (Yes, I want to be stuck in a traffic jam, it's for my immersions!)

You can increase ai traffic by opening Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/config.cfg with notepad or other text editor and look for the line

uset g_traffic “X” where X is from 1-10. replace existing with higher number then save.

This is the best way to increase traffic without any mod.

1 is the lowest value and the traffic is very sparse.
10 is the maximum and this is the way to get traffic jams.

You do have a Random Event slider in GAME options.
Otherwise, go to any mod site and look for AI mods.
This one comes to mind www.ets2mods.lt

Random events is only on ats currently. No word if it will make its way over to ETS2

A traffic mod cleverly done could increase the traffic at specific times of the day to the point of creating traffic jam near big cities. Or using the console with g_traffic @ 1.5 may do the trick.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

0 is the lowest value; anything between 0 and 1 decrease the traffic; anything above 1 increase it.

As others above me say, change the traffic via console, to be honest, for my inmersion, found that 3 will do the trick for me. Do hate driving desserted roads, feel so lonley... hahaha.
Same setting at ATS but with Random Eventes maxed.

Using all your advice to change the .cfg has really helped! It's feels so much nicer actually having vehicles on the road, though now roundabouts are an absolute nightmare! Thanks guys! Takes forever to get in, and once I get in I get rear ended 5 times... Maybe I'm just roundabouting wrong.

AI are morons, that´s why I don´t max out AI traffic. Idiots can´t even merge properly.

moved the number from 1.0 to 6.0, it seems more reasonable, suddenly those empty highways seem more alive, at long last :p.

I have 4.0, and in the rain it is pain, as traffic slows down drasticly...

Ohh, I see it now ... you're about to play roundabout roulette with the AI in the UK.
I once had a long journey when I had to enter a roundabout in Newcastle, UK. I looked carefully to make sure no traffic was present. Then when there was a huge break in traffic I went for it. You can be very careful and still these AI imbeciles show up all of a sudden. Sure enough, some idiot in a car hits the back of my trailer. There went my perfect delivery out of the window, I got damage to the trailer and the stupid crash ticket for something that wasn't my fault in the first place! :steamfacepalm:
The AI is particularly annoying at UK roundabouts. :longhaul:

Well, you do want the game to be realistic, don't you?

You got a point there. Happy :longhaul:in'
