Please fix this update 1.38.1.12

As the title says, this is a cry for help: I updated the game 20 minutes ago and since then I'm playing with a max of 10/15 FPS. I played this game less than 10 hours ago last time and it worked fine. All graphic settings were on Ultra, and it went pretty smooth like this for about a year or so. Now all of a sudden I have this problem. I tried creating a new profile without mods and it didn't change anything. So I guess mods aren't the problem. Then I tried disabling SSAO and I gained back just a bit of FPS. So I put all the settings on Low, just to try (I mean, the game is trash with Low settings, I refuse to play it like this), and it returned as smooth as it was yesterday. So I could just say that the problem is my graphic card. But it seems strange that I've always had this graphic settings and they worked fine, and now all of a sudden I have to play on Low or else the game feels like an 8-bit arcade. I just wanna wait till ETS2 gets another update and hope for the best, because I can't even find a reason to this, I literally didn't touch anything in 10 hours and the whole game became crap in just an update. I've also seen some other discussions about crashes or frame drop relating this update, but nothing helped.

TL;DR Since last update (barely 30 minutes ago) I'm having huge FPS problems and I know I'm not the only one. I've tried everything i read on the internet, but if you have some other suggestions or know a little magic trick to fix this, then please help me.

UPDATE: I don't know what happened, but steam made me download a 0 byte workshop update and now it all works fine again, with SSAO on and 400% scaling.

OTHER UPDATE: I played the game for a few days without any problem at all, 400% scaling and SSAO on, fyi. Today i had the same problem as before. I'm playing with 15 FPS even disabling SSAO. I didn't download any new mod and I did not change any graphic settings since the last monday. So, I hope it's just a bug or something like last time and it fixes itself after a few restarts, but since it's really annoying and I haven't find a solution yet (or even a reason), I'd like to find a definitive fix (hopefully not just reducing graphic quality). Just reinstalling the game seems to work, but I don't know if it will happen again.

It should've been an update about paintjobs or something like that, but ever since it came out, a lot of players are experiencing fps drops or even game crashes. Anyway, I'm repeating once again just to keep that in mind to whoever is reading now, that mods are not the problem (new profile with 0 mods, same problem) and hardware is also not the problem (pc works fine, every other game runs perfectly).
I know you may be the lucky one who didn't get this kind of FPS drops, but that doesn't mean that the game is perfectly fine for everyone else. As I said at the start of this post, I still think the update is just broken somehow. Anyways thank you all for the suggestions, even if i may or may not have fixed this, they could help some other one.

Running other programms in the background and even something like a Windows update can cause problems with the FPS.

I know that, but I verified the files and Steam said "everything's fine kiddo", same with drivers and with mods, so I'm blaming the game (update) just because it's really the only last thing left for me to blame. Anyway, I talk way too much. I just wanted to say that:
I fixed it... for now.
Talking about corrupted files, I did the oldest trick in history: I reinstalled the whole game, mods included. Welp, it helped, or so it seems, 400% scaling, SSAO on, everything on Ultra or High. So uh, maybe files are actually the problem, also mods could be, but nothing that steam could detect so I'm still confused and worried that it'll happen again. Hope this "drastic" solution can fix it for everyone once and for all.
