In other words, use that "automatic/sequential" toggle that they give you. If you find yourself having trouble getting up a hill or pulling out of a quarry or whatever, switch to sequential and stick it in a low gear. Do your business and then switch back to automatic.
Indeed. If you try getting out of a Steinbruch and the truck won't move uphill on the steepest parts of the climb, put on the parking brake, change to manual transmission with the flip of the button you set up, then try again climbing in very low gears. On automatic, the truck would try to climb in a higher gear and would not provide enough power (or maybe torque, I'm still fuzzy about these technical stuff).
its pretty comfy, lots of buttons for cruise control and engine brakes, trailer hitch and what not.
i dont know about this dropping to first gear to stop? i start from 8th gear from a complete stop if its flat.
i wish there were more hills and mountains to actually utilise the gears more. the roads in this game seem kinda flat.
my hand barely moves from my "gearstick"
guess i like the immersion of it all ay
ive got left on my joystick set as neutral, so sometimes i end up out of gear on the moterway, and its a lot of gear changes to get back up lol.
Just for some somewhat realism it doesn't seem very safe to have one hand on the wheel most of the time. I've never driven a truck but I doubt they drive one handed while they smash through a sequential, you know what I mean? Haha.
Might sound a bit noobish, but when climbing is it low gear high revs or lower gear lower revs?
you´ll notice when it stops losing speed/ is able to hold it... usually it´s a lower gear in the upper ranges...
