Palermo ferry not considered in GPS planning

I took a delivery job from Palermo to Napoli and the game considered the route to be taken to go through Sicilia, then along the coast up to Napoli. It also calculated the distance and thus the payment based on this route.
However, I just hopped on the ferry, took it to Napoli and got ~23K paid for a route of 15 km :)

Is this known? I don't suppose it's intentional, based on how such mostly-ferry distances in the North are considered much shorter.

Ferries are often much slower than overland routes (in-game time passed, not real time). The GPS is probably set up to take you via the route that takes the least amount of in-game time, unfortunately this is the one that requires the most playing time and the most driving distance.

I know it's usually like that, but in this case, the 11 hours for the ferry are, IIRC, less than driving through all of Southern Italy.
Anyway, it's not a big issue, but kind of exploitable, so I thought I'd mention it.

In Options -> Gameplay you can change the behavior of the GPS from best to shortest. Then it will probably show you the ferry route.
