Question: Pro Mods

I've been impressed with the quality of this mod but, before downloading it, I have a few questions for the wiser members of the ETS community...

(1) After installing, if I then decide to disable it, will I still be able to continue with present save (so long as I am not in a portion of the map which is Pro Mods) ?

(2) I see that, to run it, you have to run on an older version of ETS2. In summary, what updates will I be missing out on when playing an older ETS2 build?

(3) You played it: how good is it...?

IF you have it installed and then disable it .. all of the places you put garages that were on cities that arent on the vanilla will create issues for you . its best to use modded profiles seperate from vanilla . then when an update happens you still have a profile to play in meantime whilst they update the mods .

1) I played it a long time ago and since then I wiped everything and ll and started a fresh, so I cannot answer question 1

2) Currently Pro Mods support 1.37 of ETS, so anything after that you will not have.
You also need ALL of the map DLCs for ETS.

3) I played it a long time ago and it was great.

I have two profiles.
One which I use with a couple of mods of no great significance that just make my life a little better in game.
I have a second profile which is totally vanilla.
If I have issues with the latest update, I just roll-back my "vanilla" profile and play on there until issue is sorted.

You will see a lot of people recommending having two profiles, one vanilla and one for mods.

I strong recommend creating a new profile just for ProMods. You can uninstall ProMods as long as you have not bought any garages specific to the ProMods map.

When you create a saved game before installing it, you should be able to load that saved game without Promods installed of course.
Newer saved games with ProMods are likely to fail without it, especially if you bought garages that are not on the vanilla map.
But I actually never tried.

Having 2 profiles makes much more sense.
Also if you want to use WOT, a profile with the vanilla map is highly recommended.

The update of ProMods to the current ETS2 version always takes some time (~ a few weeks).
You will not have to run an outdated version forever.
Check their blog (link is on their page at the top) to see what they are working on.

I've played it and it is very well done.
I can highly recommend it. Just saying "Iceland!"

I also use 2 profiles, so while waiting for an update I can still play on the vanilla map.
It's also good to come back to the vanilla map from time to time to see the difference and also the improvements made by SCS.

If i were you i'd wait a short while before you get Promods, they are in the midst of finalizing version 2.50 which has some larger updates to the map, i'm guessing that's why it's taking somewhat longer than usual.
There are already some Youtubers driving on it.

Normally they would have updated for 1.38 roughly by now, unless TMP is also interfering with their update speed.
