High pitch engine whine help
I don't remember this problem happening in the earlier version of the game, but whenever my truck is accelerating there is this very loud, high-pitch noise that is just really annoying and distracting. It's kind of like running one's nails across a chalk-board sound. I tested with every single 'high-end' truck from all manufacturers and all have this same problem.

I've got a very strong tinnitus that is constant 24/7 and this noise is sooo similar. I had to stop playing because it was that bad. My question now is whether anyone here has a solution to solve this issue. Is there a way to filter this sound out/to change the engine sound? Thanks in advance.

It is the turbo that gives the high-pitch noise.
So you should probably not buy an irl car with a turbo.

There are some sliders in sound settings you can try to adjust, it is enough engine sound you need to adjust, as far as I know there is no separate adjustment for the turbo.

I agree it was worse in 1.37 seems a bit better in 1.38. I just had to lower the truck engine sound on the slider in sounds and it goes away. Not sure if your wearing a headset I don't, so it may be more pronounced with a headset.

could be a puncture in the air intake

there is also the terrible annoying whine which sounds like a super charger/turbine.
i couldnt make my mind up if it was a turbine or wheel whine.
you can turn this sound down in the truck noise slider. (not the second silder. the one further down)

the other 2 annoying screeches happen when you brake. i think this is linked to engine brake and retarder sfx. you can turn at least one of these down in the second slider. engine noise/sound/volume.
turn it down too far though and you lose the sound of your engine altogether.
thats sound bundles for ya.
certain sounds need isolation/there own slider and not bundled with other sounds because of "limited sliders/gui space"
