horn not working after update to 1.38

since the update my horn won't work any ideas how i can solve this???

That would be most likely because of one (or more) of your mods.

With 1.38 we have new rooftop horns, this same update also made some of the dlc horns not working. If the ones you use are out of a mod it likely means that mod has not yet updated or used a base out of a dlc.

I have the same problem, but not for all trucks...the MAN and DAF works the horn and the mounted fanfare, the Scania and the Mercedes don't work...after I mounted a fanfare, only the fanfare worked, but the standard horn is still not working

Also a mod problem. If you have a Scania mod you most likely have the culprit.

ok, fun fact: I have 2 Scania S NextGen...with one is the horn working, with the other not...so, if it is a problem with a mod, I use the mod on one Scania but not on the other Scania...I will check it

They always want to blame it on a mod. I have no mods, and my default air horn doesn't work. I'm driving a Scania.

I've had a reply on another thread about this, and he says that there is a problem, and it is being worked on.

Do you have mounted a horn on your truck? Because there a two different horns. The normal one (default key "H") and the air horn (default key "N"). For the latter one you have to mount a horn on your truck but not for the first one.

and this is not limited on Scania, the new Actros and the Volvo FH (not Classic) have the same issue. Mostly I use the same parts (f.e. lights) on all trucks, so it should not be a problem with a mod.

I'm also driving a Scania (vanilla profile) and both the air horn and the normal horn works for me.
And as for mod I quote SCS:
"Profiles that have mods on them can have undesired results with the game and game updates. Even when you remove a mod, they can still leave data in the save file which can lead to undesired results."

Try to replicate the problem on a vanilla profile (no mods ever in it). If you can not replicate it there it is a mod problem.

Not if it is mods for specific trucks.

Wolfgang, thank you for all of that. In the past, it had not been required to mount an air horn (default: N). It was always there by default. May I add, in ATS the air horn is still there, just as it always has been in both ETS2 and ATS.

As I've said elsewhere, I really don't care enough about it to install an air horn. The problem is that everybody is still complaining about it. It is still, apparently, an issue. It is not a matter of mods, or needing to install an air horn; it is supposed to be there by default.

I'm sure this issue will be corrected eventually.

There is NO problems with horns/air horns in V1.38, In all vanilla trucks HORN works, but airhorn
wont work untill you buy and install it on to your truck, Is there anything you kids actually know in nowadays?

Though I do not agree with the wording the message is true. The trucks work perfectly fine in vanilla so there is nothing that needs to be fixed.
