You can change inside by changing interior when configuring your truck. English trucks (RHD) have steering wheel on the right side of cabin. They are called UK interior. It has speedometer on dash in MPH.
If you choose LHD (steering wheel on the left side) interior, you will have km/h on dashboard

No, you will have whatever units of measure you've requested via Options > Gameplay > Regional Settings
No matter how I set my region settings I cant get a MPH dashboard. I use a LHD truck an drive out of Germany. How can I change my dashboard to MPH instead of KMH? A mod perhaps?

Changing Options > Gameplay > Regional Settings > Length Units will only change digital info in the game. That is any speed shown on the Route Advisor, and "Digital" readout on the dashboard.

It WILL NOT change the Analog Speedometer from mp/h to km/h or vice versa. It also doesn't change the speed signs on the roads. The only way to change the Analog Speedometer is to switch interiors. Standard for KM/H or "UK" for MPH.

The Analog Speedometer on the dashboard is a texture/picture attached to the interior model.

SCS would have to create an extra set of dashboard interiors to change the Analog display.

Best case would be a 2nd set of textures for each dash that the game would reference either KM/H or MPH depending on regional settings. This would require a change in game code as well.

Worst case they would have to create an entire interior x4 for each interior style. The result would be double the dashboards. Just as an example... Standard MPH, Standard KM/H, Exlusive MPH, Exclusive KM/H and you would have to do double that for the UK interior option.
I wonder if I could change the textures of the km/h dashboard from the textures in the UK dash? Like I do my w900 sounds for all the other trucks? Would you know where those dash textures hide for the 2014 actros 8x4? I have Base and trucks extracted already.

**Update**

It seems the "texture" is part of the .pma. The icon.dds seems to be the text numbers but moving just the "dash background" is impossible without blender nand even then perhaps more parts dont fit than Im aware.

Its a very good way to get better aquainted with km/h though.

Since I drive a truck without an analogue display, I'd forgotten about that aspect. Surely the answer there is for the dial to display both MPH and KPH (which is what every car that I've had in the last twenty years plus has done)??

I was a kid in the late 70s-early 80s and grew up in Canada, and so I was taught both. If you can do math quick in your head, it's not that hard.

MPH ---> KPH = +60%
KPH ---> MPH = -35%

100 kph = 60 mph
80 kph = 50 mph
60 kph = 38 mph
40 kph = 25 mph

It's geographically part of Europe yes, but it has never used KMH - KMH is used in almost every single country that is part of the European Union. The only exception being Ireland as the South is part of the EU and the North belongs to the UK; the South uses KMH etc. and the North MPH there's other differences but none of them are relevant to ETS2.

Yes, they are still part of the continent of Europe. What they are no longer part of is the EU, a political and economic partnership among nations.

The UK is actually still part of the EU and will still continue to be until 2019, just for the heads up, the UK has never left the EU - yet. What date was it... the 23rd of June last year? Whatever date it was that the referendum happened was only a day where the country voted on what to do, the process of leaving the EU will only begin once Article 50 is triggered and, until that day comes and all the negotiations are completed, the UK will still be part of the EU.

Thankfully there's some of us who can figure that out but, unfortunately, there's people from the UK who honestly think/believe we left the EU on the 23rd of June 2016 and I suspect it's partly due to them that other people throughout the world also mistakenly believe that too.

The timing of the split isn't the issue. The fact that people keep thinking that the UK is leaving the continent of Europe is. :steamfacepalm:
