so to shift in order from low to high gears you'd shift 1L - 1H - 2L - 2H - 3L - 3H etc.
In general, you can skip some low speed gears when loaded normally, so for example you can use only the L gears untill you reach 4L, and from there on start using the H gears as well.
If you're loaded heavy, or for example going uphill, you'd skip less or no gears.
