ETS2 and bus simulation
When I saw the bus passenger loading areas, I was happy because I love driving a bus in ETS2.
Unfortunately, despite my research, it is impossible to have the ability to take passengers in these areas. Most of the time, mods are buggy, and never updated with the latest version of ETS2.
Why is it so difficult to model?
The modders create us beautiful buses, but no way to take passengers.
SCS does not plan to make a "bus special" game?

They did one in 2007 called Bu Driver http://store.steampowered.com/app/302080/Bus_Driver/

Its from 2007 i got it with a SCS bundle when I got ETS 2

Its not very good though I don`t see driving buses in ET2 would work. Its a truck driving game ( sim)

They have a coach bus DLC (?) on the backburner. I'm not sure if licenses are still an issue at the moment, but the underlying code needs to be updated and re-worked anyway for it to function correctly. I think this is something they're working on in spare time outside of the main features of the base game currently.

Bus DLC what for ET2? How woul that work?
As it already exists in mod!
You load passengers that you take to another city! Like a truck delivery.
This exists with maps of brazil. But I would like to ride in Europe ....

Bus driver is ugly. OMSI too complex if you do not master German.
And these 2 simus is happening in cities. Not on the road.
In ETS2, there are already beautiful mods, for buses. But no possibility of taking passengers, or so, on older versions of ETS2.
But as soon as there is an update, more possible.

In response to Trucker1975, of course, ETS2 is a truck simulation, but when I see the large number of cars modeled .....

I see your point now :) It would be a cool twist to the game but I think a new good game would be better :)

But I like to see ET3 and we can see our AI drivers coming and going at our garages and if we at the same location droping off their own loads... Pass on the road and you can beep each other and talk about wages and just check in on them etc :) Am not talking about like a managerrment game just bit of extra life to the game :) If they could do that in a DLC will that be amazing

SCS said they will do the opposite with Coach Simulator, from a separate game to a DLC for ETS2. It would be too much hassle to update two games when they have so much in common. And ETS3 will not happen, nor is seeing your AIs on the road.

Because it's really hard to do. One issue : the AI cannot drive in the delivery bays, they disappear before reaching the gate. Another issue: the AI are managed through a database and a timer, the game does not track down every truck on the road. And that's only 2 issues on an endless list.

Yes, that's a fact, for a least the next 3-4 years.

Not true. I barely know anything of the German language and I can play OMSI 2 just fine. It has its own issues anyway. The tutorial goes through the basic steps in English and is easy to follow.

In regards to the DLC, it would work just like truck deliveries, only that the coding for the passengers would not require having to back up or anything and would act like a coach bus instead of a truck.

Fact from where ? SCS said that?
There is also Fernbus Simulator... if you so dare to put up with slow Development, and poor optimization.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/427100/Fernbus_Simulator/

It's certainly not the greatest, it has it's Pro's and Con's, but it does the Job for a Coach Simulator.

As mentioned before, there was a Bus Simulator SCS were looking into. I first heard about it on a Blog from SCS 4 years ago, so who knows what is going on with it.

A discussion also came up on Fernbus Forums about SCS working on a Bus Sim, but in my opinion, unless it is a completely seperate Game, then ETS2 Coding just doesn't have the required Features that would make a great Bus Sim, such as an interactive Cabin, the Ability to walk around and interact with Passengers and your Coach, to name a few.

Of course if SCS are working on implementing such features into ETS2, then I would be all for it, but I honestly wouldn't see the enjoyment of a Coach Sim, where you are glued to your seat with little to no interaction to what being a Bus Driver is about.

I've never seen such a comment from SCS, but I think the point they are making is that ETS2 and ATS are large Projects which are designed to be Developed for the long run. The Core Gameplay as it is, does an alright job, and SCS are always adding new Features.

It's good, guys.
I found a bus and passengers and I travel by bus in ETS2, with loading of passengers and delivery of these, like trucks.

Thank you
It looks like they are planning to add bus driving to ETS2... I found this in the save file...

It would have been around 2014 or 15 that SCS made a Post regarding a Bus Sim [DLC] would be in the works. No word ever since then.

It would definitely be something many of us would want, but personally, when it comes to competing with actual Bus Sims, SCS don't provide the amount of in depth detail that it's competitors create, such as interaction with Passengers, interaction with the Bus Consoles ect.
