In the game, the blinker swich is obviously configured as a virtuel switch that may have a short impulse both to activate and deactivate the blinker. surely because the blinkers normally switches off when the steering wheel being centered again after have be turned to the blinker side.
So I don't think it's possible to make a perfect working setup where you use the shifter to activate/deactivate the blinker.
Now I don't know how you shift gears? (automatic or manual?)
If you use automatic gear and have setup 2 buttons for that, you instead can setup your shifter to forward, neutral and reverse position, and this should free the 2 gear buttoms to be used to the blinkers.
