Saitek R220 Driving Wheel Problems
Hello,
I own an old Saitek R220 wheel and I haven't used it in a longer while. When I bought ETS (and later ATS) I tested my ol' wheel. It wasn't and isn't the greatest thing ever (I even consider using a gamepad instead as this wheel only has a 90 degrees turning rate and no force feedback) but it was working. My problems with this wheel start to annoy me slightly, so I've decided to ask here for help.
Problem number one- the pedals aren't working and to be honest I don't remember whether they have ever worked or not (even installing the drivers from some strange sites didn't help)
Problem number two- the wheel likes to freak out. Let me explain what exactly I mean through an example:
I'm driving on a highway like a normal trucker. Suddenly my wheel sends a random input into the computer making the truck freak out and for a split second turn the in game wheel by 900 degrees causing me to crash. That's only the worst case scenario. While turning, the wheel usualy sends also wrong inputs causing the truck to turn more than intender (ex. the wheel should be at 30 degrees- suddenly is 40). I've noticed that changing how the game detects the wheel from "wheel" to "joystick, gamepad" helps a bit (I suspect it's thanks to the in-game forcefeedback) but it isn't enough as sometimes my wheel still causes random turns.
If there's a way to fix or at least reduce the problem, please let me know.
Thank you very much!
