Surprised by heavy cargo in external jobs without that DLC in ETS2 yet

I only have my starter truck in ETS2, just trying to save money for my 1st garage and 2nd truck, so I can start hiring drivers. It took me by complete surprise when a double trailer came up in external contracts as Heavy Cargo when it is not even oversize and I do not have the Heavy Cargo DLC for ETS2 yet (I do have it for ATS). I hauled a double bottom up to Bergen, but apparently regular doubles with smoked sprats or pet food are considered Heavy Cargo in ETS2.

I think the Volvo has the most hp as a base truck, but in 4x2 is not suitable for heavy cargo. In fact when I needed rest with a load and the only place with rest parking nearby was a quarry, turning around to climb out, I ended up stopped and spinning my wheels in gravel crabbing sideways, but knowing how to drive in snow, managed to back up and get it moving. Then next contract was a pickup in a quarry, so I knew to keep moving for the climb out.

All of the Heavy Cargo in ATS is oversize. What took me by surprise is that Heavy Cargo in ETS2 is not necessarily oversize, and that it showed up for external contracts when I do not have that DLC for ETS2 yet.

These are a couple of my Heavy Cargo DLC haulers in ATS with 625 hp CAT engine & 18-speed trans. Not exactly maneuverable, but they get the job done:

The Truck Analysis screen and 8x4 chassis were added with the 1.27 update to support the Heavy Cargo DLC. Doubles were added in the 1.28 update. Some of the doubles can be over 24t and so qualify as "Heavy" and trigger the Truck Analysis screen for heavy cargo. Additionally, trailer/cargo mods that have loads over 24t will also trigger the "heavy" content.

What is included with the Heavy Cargo DLC (that you don't own) are heavy/oversize cargoes on special trailers with steering axles.

Just one dumb question: HOW to get the truck analysis screen to show up? Where is the button/symbol for that??
Until this morning I didn't even knew, that this exists!

It pops up if you choose a trailer that may be too heavy for your truck.

So only if you choose a job with YOUR OWN truck? Okay!

P.S. Just tried it, nothing! Can't you manually open this screen?? Probably my truck is good enough!

I don't think you can manually open the Truck Analysis screen. However, it should open when you change the engine and/or transmission as well as any time you select a load that is more than 24t.

Yea I just did that, I chose a load way over 24 tons but still didn't get the screen!

If a load is considered heavy (even if not from Heavy Cargo DLC) there should be an icon that looks like a cylinder with knob on top. For example look at the icons at the top of this list for Smoked Sprats, and one farther down for Pet Food. You might only see that for non-DLC doubles in Scandinavia (other than from Heavy Cargo DLC loads).

Yea I know what heavy loads are and how I choose one, BUT I DON'T GET THAT SCREEN!!!!!

Maybe your truck is strong enough? Did you try it with a cheap 4×2 truck already?

If you vist a truck dealer and are looking at a trucks customisation optins you will find it.
