Exactly post like this is why i still havent updated to 1.37. The sound problems just still are there and are crappy as f and does not seem to be solved.Ii lack the skill to make such mods... so... 1.36beta program is your best bet to get good sounds again but this would likely mean starting over as an 1.37 profiles do not revert back to 1.36.

I have no problems with the sound in 1.37 🤷🏼‍♂️

all truck s sound the same so i drive volvo fh 600 for work 2020 and it dont sound like that
HEAVYHITTER451 Jul 7, 2020 @ 1:16am
why were they removed tho were they ordered down i had a great engine pack in the other day but it was removed sadly from workshop is there a place where they install and we can rip them from a steam temp folder and into mods folder ?

The new sounds are due to the introduction of FMOD:
https://blog.scssoft.com/2020/05/euro-truck-simulator-2-137-release.html

And no you can not rip the old sounds and just use them as a mod as they are not compatible with FMOD.
And also this is what SCS said:
While there is still a lot of tweaking to do and more sounds to arrive, this is only the first phase. We will continue to improve based on feedback and implement changes throughout the year to come.

As I mentioned somewhere else, the advent of FMOD, in 1.37, was a train wreck, IMHO. However, I am now running 1.38 beta, with SSAO turned OFF, and guys, if you haven't tried it, you're gonna FLAT OUT LOVE the sounds in the 1.38 beta. Try it out, and if you still don't like it, or cannot handle the lagging (and don't want to purchase a new graphics card), revert back to 1.36. SCS gave us options; all we have to do is find what works best for our ears and our computers.

its quite sad to have to purchase a new video card for truck sim only as other games run fine sadly might be the end of a lot of years journey if we only go as far as back to 137 and staying there i guess that rules out future dlcs

The author of the mod took them down because he was tired of others stealing his sounds to put them in their own mods and taking credit for them.

Yeah that's not actually what happened.

Do all you drivers who complain about the engine sounds play a different game to me and most other players?
It seems to be a common refrain that you can't possible play ATS or ETS2 any more because you're so offended by the sounds you hear. :steamsad:
Is that the most important aspect of the game to you?

Have you tried doing what truckers do IRL, and listening to the radio or your own music play-list?
That would be more realistic than banging on about how you hate the engine sound.:steamfacepalm:

No we play the same game but just have different likes and needs in this game obviously. For me the sounds are important because i use the revs to know when to slow down or speed up without needing to look at the dails and map.. you know.... keep your eyes on the road and all that. The *badly* new sound engine made all the trucks sound the same, while in real world even 2 actross can sound way different from each other. It is part of the simulator experience. Do i use music sure, on a stand alone radio not the ingame one so that i am able to drive on the revs like i would do in real life. The thing that stings the most to me is... devs dare to call it an improvement while we as players only experienced a big setback. So much i am at this point more inclined to stay on 1.36 then to ever update again. This isnt what i was and am used to from this dev studio, they always been fiar and open to us untill 1.37 but as things are i wont be spending a dime more to any dlc. They need to fix this sound engine asap simple enough. You dont have to agree but calling us basicly liers because you can handle this crappy sounds is a big nono to me.

The location for suggestions is on the Wishlist thread at the SCS Forums:

https://forum.scssoft.com/viewforum.php?f=185

You might want to read the SCS blogs more often, they have stated they are continually working on the sounds and the next release, coming shortly, is ver. 1.38, which will have further sound improvements. They wanted to get FMOD in place to give themselves the opportunity to improve all sounds and the way they are utilised in-game to best effect.
How about supporting a game developer that does this FOR FREE and does not charge for every update and use the in-game micro-transaction scam? Just a thought...:steammocking:

You do know that you can turn SSAO off?

1.38 Beta resolves most engine issues. 1.37 and the subsequent "Sounds Rebalance" Package were as SCS stated, steps in getting FMOD into the game.

You might have noticed that SCS continuously worked on the old audio system over several years before deciding that a major overhaul was going to be the best direction and solution for long term game development.

Don't expect audio innovation and changes/improvements to stop at 1.38 - because we all know that this isn't how SCS work. :104:
