ETS2 Crashes when using Internet Radio.
Ever since update V.1.37 my game keeps crashing after about 2 minutes of turning on Internet radio. This was never an issue prior to update V1.37. Things are fine with ATS. Any help you might be able to provide, will be greatly appreciated! Ty. Pierre.

The FMOD can not handle some type of streaming metadata and will crash the game. Which radio stream are you trying to play?

It's classic rock radio out of London. Ty.

Ahh good to know.

I started listening to a new station other day and found that every now and then it stutters and the game pauses, after several seconds it carries on normal, but sometimes it's like 20-30 seconds of stutter, like a machine gun. It has crash once or twice, but most of the time it plays ok.

So not sure what I can do to make it better, or why it's happening.

Station is: http://46.105.122.141:9676/;

Please don't knock me for my old taste in music.. I'm old.

@Harag
I love non stop oldies . com, reminds me of all the music my parents listened to as I was growing up :)
Hate to say this though... I don't have a problem listening to the stream. 🤔

Hope you sort it sooner than later 😊

:)

Most of the time it's been ok. might be just my internet ISP hic up now and then-- does putting 128|1 at the end make a difference? I wasn't sure what the values were so left them at 0|0 I'll change it to the same as you to see. Thanks

128 is the bitrate you will request to receive, 0 informs the service you want it as high as they give... anything over 128 for many may cause loss of stream data if your connection is not great.
edit: the second zero is is a flag for the player 1=Favorite 0=not

Ahh, excellent, I've made the changes and it's been ok for the last hour, no machine guns. :) Thanks for the help.

You're welcome, happy trucking.

With ETS2 I've always tuned into smooth radio out of London, from the in game radio and it used to work fine until update V1.37. Every now and again, I to would experience that stuttering, otherwise it was great. I have no problems with classic rock 181.1 FM I think it is in ATS with zero problems. Oh well, sucks that I have to roll in ETS2 without tunes! Maybe it gets fixed at some point?? Thanks all.

Pierre.

I have this issue too. Since v1.37 came out, Smooth Radio crashes the game after few minutes of play. Hope someone is reading those comments and it will be fixed in future updates. I really like that station.

That's good to know, thank you.

Update. I was playing ETS2 today and decided to try another radio station, so I loaded classic rock out of Manchester. It worked smooth as butter. I decided to give smooth classic rock another try and sure enough, not 3 minutes later, the game crashed! I like Smooth, but it seems Smooth doesn't like update 1.37? At least I found a station that works and can now grove too some tunes while driving. Be well everyone. Cheers,

Pierre.

Seems the internet radio is still causing game stutters/crashes...

I didn't use to have any issue with this. It started recently. I usually listen to TruckersFM, but swapped to a few other stations (both 320 and 180 bitrate) and am having the same issue.

Just gonna stop listening to internet radio. Also, my internet speeds are quite well -- ~1 Gb/down and ~50 Mb/up.

I have the same problem in my ETS2. But I imported music to my game's Music Player. When I go to the Radio, game crashed itself.

Which is due to this issue. It is known that it happens but the exact cause (which is why @Komfr states that it is some type of streaming metadata) is not yet known. The workaround is to listen to radio stations via your internet browser.
