H-Shifter Gear Hotkeys for keyboard

Hey, I play this game with the Steam Controller and was thinking of using the right touchpad has a H-Shifter to where I bind gears 1-6 to the right touchpad. I have to be able to set Shifter Position 1-6 in the H-Shifter options to keyboard inputs which is sadly not possible. Can anyone help me with this?

have a look in controls.sii and scroll to the bottom of the page.
you should be able to change shifter commands there.
but is not all that simple.
have a look, set a few commands to keyboard inputs and try them out to see which gears pop up.
its gonna be a job trying get a decent grid going, but once you have, you could try binding them to the touchpad if its recognised by an emulator or the steam controller might do it for you. but i dont think the gears will actually toggle. you have to keep the button pressed down?

Thanks for the reply, the game accepts xinputs for the single gears and since my Steam Controller didnt use any of the dpad or face buttons I assigned them all to the gears but sadly as you said I have to keep them pressed down since they dont toggle. Guess I have to keep living with sequential shifting until I can afford a wheel.

yeah np.

if the controller is recognised by an emulator like Joy-to-Key or something then you might/should be able to set up toggles. but you would have to press the active toggle again to deactivate it before pressing a new toggle/gear change.
(but that also means changing the shifter inputs from xinput to keyboard inputs..)

(if thats something youre willing to try, then you should be able to set up keyboard inputs onto a joypad. i dont know of any emulator that can toggle or rapid fire actual xinput.)
