Need advice on "Quick Split" function

I notice in the game option menu there is a function called "Quick Split". I understand the split & range functions and i have used manual transmissions (12) with my G29+Gear box many times.

Normally i press a button to shift between high & low while the clutch is pressed. But what i don't understand and don't know is how to use the "Qucik Split" function.

Please tell me :

1. What is this "Quick Split" that the game refers to ?

2. What do i need to have to use it ?

3. How do i use it ?

Most of the time i use automatic transmission for normal cargos, but i use manual every time i pull a heavy cargo 40+ tons because automatic is very poor when handling heavy loads.

The splitter quick split that euro trucks use is a clutch press. What it lets you do is preselect your splitter before you intend to actually shift. Then all you have to do is clutch in to split the gear once you're ready.
I prefer the way US trucks do it but maybe that's cause it's what I'm more used to. You can use either clutch or just let up off the gas real quick then back on the gas and your gear is split. When I drive Euro trucks though I keep it set to clutch press cause I like to use whatever the real truck I'm driving uses.
