BUT!
There are always traffic signs, across the world, so that you usually cannot fail. In Europe (here EU), you should not use turn signals to "enter" the roundabout. But to leave the roundabout your way signal is required.
But just look at the signs on the roundabout and you will soon get an idea, what is the law in that specific country.
But be careful, for not all NPC's stick to the rules.
(And if it happens, that you are on a MP game hardly none is going along the rules. They usually just drive! That's a fact!
As well as hardly no one is sticking to the rules, that you have to wait on a red traffic signal! )
I suggest to read the rules for MP, if you try this!
What is this mythical Red Traffic Signal you speak of?!
As to the OP, If I crash, its usually on a roundabout and what gets me is 99% of the time I get crashed into and have to pay the fine. Pick your timing and hope for the best else you are relying on dumb AI with a deathwish, pretty good representation of... ah nevermind.
Most of the roundabouts in game are just a tad too small for a truck to move around properly as you would in reality, and as in reality as a truck driver you use as much of the road as you need keeping your eyes very much open.
In UK: Left is if you're turning left or going straight, and Right is if you're turning right or going around in a circle.
This is the theory. Consider a roundabout with 4 exits, although principal is the same for more or less exits.
To take an early exit, use the outer lane and use appropriate exit.
To go straight ahead, it is normally marked with road markings and signage, but generally can be either middle lane of 3 lanes on roundabout or outer lane
To take a late exit use the inner lane for the first two exits and then when move towards the outer lane.
The issue is that the ai vehicles don't follow these rules and you are often best to wait for a space or create a space. Use signals as the ai responds better and accidents are much less likely to occur. To create space indicate and pull onto the roundabout. ai will often just stop - obviously need to allow some space for then to stop.
Same. And if you drive in a truck you don't want to come into a situation to change lanes outwards as you don't see anything.
If roundabout has 2 lanes and the lanes continue on the left exit (right exit for UK), stay in the outer lane with truck, rest of traffic on the inside where you have visuals :)
In game I tend not to use indicator when in a roundabout, it seem to get the AI confused and start driving into the roundabout - even if indicating left to take left exit... Only indicating when exiting.
So far this seems to work in game as it works irl.
