1.37 Beta - Rain inside the cabin is too loud.

Yea, the raindrops falling on the roof of the lorry are much to loud and they sounds like raindrops falling an a garden shed. I mean there are many things that changed and made the game even more realistic, but it is not the burning thing, that so many people hyped it

Mods? Yes, for gas stations, real companies, traffic AI and GPS. No sound mods, no map modifications, no custom trucks etc.

Generally new sounds are better, Doppler effect is great, but that rain is a thing that in current state requires modding...

In ATS rain on the roof of a luxury class truck sounds like hail on a trash can. My biggest complaint so far about the overall fantastic improvement in the audio that 1.37 brought

Havent heard it in the game yet, but in reality rain on a truck roof is very loud.

Can it be so loud, much much louder than in a typical passenger car? I thought that truck roof is placed higher, is thicker too, and generally trucks seem to be well ​soundproofed.
That rain sound in current state drowns out everything - traffic noise, truck noise, engine, wipers... It's irritating and the wore thing is you can't do anything with it, you are not able to tune it in settings because it does not belong to any of the sound categories.

Very interesting... I didn't notice that. In my case it isn't so loud as you describe. Very strange. Check your "rain probability" slider - mine is on about 10 percent. If the rain is heavier, then it's louder too... I assume.

I should clarify my comment above, in ATS I have no problem with the volume of the rain, just that it is very tinny ping ping and not at all like what rain on a vehicle roof or hood sounds like.

Strange, in ETS is extremely loud.
I hope that devs will fix it, generally sound levels are much better now, especially world and traffic. Only truck is a bit too quiet IMHO, but that can be easily set in menu as well as other sounds levels except that stupid rain :)

Well, in reality a trucks roof is the same metal strength as a cars roof and since most trucks have windows in the roof, its even less isolated than in a car or the rest of the truck.

Many new cars also have windows in the roof. Many city buses also have them and rain is not as noisy inside them as it is in ETS2 1.37 beta. :)

I really hope they'll fix it.

BTW - next time I encounter rain I'll record my gameplay so you'll be able compare it with yours.

the latest patch bugged everything out. With the windows closed the cabin used to be super quiet and relaxing. now its almost as though the engine is right next to you in the passenger seat.

It seemed that they have fixed that noisy rain but now I hear that it's still there. What's more, engine is either too loud with opened windows or too quiet with windows closed. To be honest, generally engine sound is strange and awful now. I returned to 1.36 and installed ProMods for the first time (I don't have Road....) and I'm happy.
