I doubt I will find those mods outside of Steam so I guess I will have to accept the loss then and start all over again. Big blow in the face though.
Edit: If they are ownable that won't work, I think.
make a copy of the profile/save your trying to fix.
Look at the error log for the game, Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\game.log.txt
Lets say you find:
vehicle_accessory : _nameless.8fb.fb40 {
wear: 0
data_path: "/def/vehicle/trailer/missingmod/losttrailerpart.sii"
}
before you delete it, ctrl+F for "_nameless.8fb.fb40"
It's referenced elsewhere, you need to remove that also, and fix the numbering.
accessories[4]: _nameless.8fb.fb40
and you have one less accessory, so change:
"accessories: 5" to 4
In your case, just delete all the "accessories" in that list, then the list itself (eg trailer + trailer_definition)
If after editing, and loading the save you edited, game.log.txt complains about a dangling pointer, that just means you deleted something that is still referenced.
- Do you mean the game crashes to the desktop? ie. exits the game? Or is it just the warning screen that a crash was detected? If this is the case, you can always try loading that last save game.
- Do you mean the packs were just paintjobs? Technically speaking the game should apply a 'fallback' paintjob when a different paintjob was applied and is now not available.
- You could try deleting the game.crash file from your Documents, then run the game, wait for it to crash, then copy'n'paste the game.crash file to pastebin.com and post that link at SCS Forums.
I don't know how long you've been using this trailer mod, so there's no way of knowing how far back in your autosaves you could go, to rectify it.
