For the second link: That was from 3 years ago and only 83 people voted for yes which is still no majority of players.
i game to de-stress from work and to escape from the idiots that i deal with on a day to day basis. this is why i choose games that either have the option of being played as a single player or have no multiplayer option at all.
if the game gets turned into an MMO with no single player option then i WILL stop playing the game,
in short: the most you can hope for for a very long time are official virtual companies using World of Trucks as a platform... No driving with others, we´ll have to stick to the MP-mod for that...
all he said was that it´ll get more online features, like stats sharing and possibly player companies who share their statistics... and even that was never a set-in-stone promise...
he specifically stated (multiple times in many vlogs, streams and interviews over the past 4 or 5 years) that MMO-style multiplayer is nothing we should hope for ... not in years...
While World of Trucks is to become an mmo-esque mp eventually, there was never a date set. Just that it would be a nice long-term goal. Do not rush this. The more you rush it, the worse of a system it will be when it comes.
SCS hired one of the devs of TruckersMP specifically for this purpose. They're no longer employed by SCS, but they had helped make WoT what it is today.
LOADS of people have zero interest in multiplayer games or playing multiplayer modes in games.
