Can't save work on Map Editor?

Sorry if this is the right place to post. I didn't know anywhere else to go.

Hi,

So a few hours ago, I decided to try creating a map. A few crashing here and there aside, I came upon a big problem: I can't save.

When I attempt to save, this message pops up:
Failed to create the output file - the map IS NOT saved, backups have been advanced.

I'm not sure what to do.
I've:

• Run the editor as admin
  
• I've extracted base.scs in a new folder called base under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2.
  
• ^ Made sure the base folder had a folder inside it called map. ^

Is there something I'm missing?
I'm not sure what to do, because all the solutions I have found online seem to work for other people who receive the same error message but never for me.

So anyways, does anyone have a solution? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! :D

Hi, I know this is old but you also need to extract def.scs
