Logitech G27 Force Feedback
Ok so I recently bought a Logitech G27 Wheel, Pedals and Shifter set.

I went through the usual setup with the Logitech Profiler. I have tried all kinds of different FFB settings, including turning centering spring up, down, on, off, allowing and unallowing game settings.

However, everytime I launch ETS2, with force feedback on in the in-game settings, it is way too stiff, and it is as if the centering spring is on max. I can hardly turn the wheel and when I let go it immediately springs back. Am I doing something terribly wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried centering spring off in Profiler, allowing game settings, and then adjusting the in game sliders?

Just tried it. Moved all the sliders to almost zero and went into game. As soon as I turn the engine on, the wheel snaps to the middle and becomes stiff and impossible to move.

Is the Logitech force feedback driver available or not?

Grasping at straws, have not used a Gxx for some time, but this nags at me:
Turn off your computer
Unplug the wheel from USB
Unplug the power supply for the wheel from the wall
Plug the power supply back in
Start the computer
Plug the wheel back into USB
How stiff is the wheel (should be very stiff)
Start ETS2
Did that relax the wheel? If so you just have some software adjustments to make

Ok just did all of that. Starting up the computer, it went through the usual startup, doing a full rotation of the wheel. And yes, it is very stiff. Starting up ETS2 made no difference though. The same stiffness.

My procedure with the G27, before starting any game is:

1. Open the Profiler
2. Click Device>Game Controllers
3. Click Properties (select the G27 first if you have multiple controllers shown here)
-note: this (the Test page) is where the wheel should 'loosen up' completely
4. Do a manual calibration; rotate the wheel lock to lock, fully press each pedal
5. Close the properties and profiler.
6. Start game.

If I turn off the computer with wheel connected, it does loosen up.

Going in to the test page where you can view all the buttons etc, the wheel becomes the same stiffness. The only way I can get it to loosen up from here is by going into force feedback settings and turning centering spring to 0%.

I don't understand it at all. If you turn off the centering spring then even 100% shouldn't make any difference. To clarify this, I still use a centering spring strenght of 20% with my G29 with lower as default in game ffb settings.

I can get it to work relatively well if i set centering spring to about 30%, then disabling force feedback in-game. But, as soon as I turn on the in-game force feedback, it's like it overrides all profiler settings and sets the centering spring back to 100%.

Ok guys, after all that, I have found the problem. I had it plugged into a USB 3.0 port instead of a 2.0 one. Switched it round and immediately was working fine. Uggggghhhhhh

Hopefully the problem will not come back, I thought several times that it was solved by using a different USB port, in the end this turned out not to be a stable solution for me.
My G29 has been working perfectly connected to USB3 for a few months.
But I sincerely hope that this USB 2 connection will work stably for you.

USB3 should be backwards compatible, and I can only confirm this.

Ok well I'll see how it goes at hope for the best. Fingers crossed it holds up.
