I kinda want it and I kinda don't for the reasons given above..
It would be great to have that feeling of time passing 1:1 and slowly making your way..
On the other hand you won't get anywhere for weeks ;)

Well, I guess 1:1 (apart from great local map mods) will be for the real life (which is not a problem for me, since that's what I'll make a living from anyway)

I got the driver's licence, driver training ADR certificate and the mandatory truck driver's education. You need that if you want to haul goods in Europe. A light blue card you need to have on you, unless you want a ticket, doh.
I'm still searching for a job/apprenticeship and it's not easy to get when you got no experience.

On topic: I've tried a 1:1 map of northern Norway. You bet I heard a lot of music and did it like a real trucker. 4.5 hours max driving time, 45 min. break and then I went on for another 4.5 hours. Real time of course.

I bet a full 1:1 map of Europe (with a good quality and quantity) will take 100 years to develope and the base game (without DLCs) will cost at least 100 €

game engine cant handle it. if no major change was done to it its still calculation the distances to some point in "germany" ..so the bigger distance from it smaller the numbers difference between
A and B and the calculation goes fuubar. i think african maps mods had this problem. or maybe iam wrong :D

and what? ever tried the last championship races in GT Legends? 60laps of Spa, its around 3 hours of going full balls ...well i cheated with an ocassional "esc" .....:D:D

Yeah but that is different thing. It is 3 hours of going full balls, not 3 hours of driving 80 km/h on highway :D
I mean, if there are people who would play that let them play. But personally, I wouldn't.
Omsi2 also has 1:1 maps/lines but there is always something happening so it is not that tiresome

@Mike, it was a very long time I tried that Norwegian map and I just had to experience the 1:1 map.
The speed limits are quite low and the trip I went on was from the very top of the map to the bottom of it. In the original map that's approximately from Northern Norway to the very southern tip of Sicily. A long ride indeed with low speed limits. But I liked the experience.

@Hitman, depends on which company you work at. I've checked out trucks from a lot of companies in Denmark and they're not that bad at all. You could always visit or drive/walk by some trucking companies and take a look at their trucks.
Though new drivers at some companies start driving a van and advances up the "ladder" until you've gained enough trust from the company to drive a truck.
It could be like, you drive a van for a month, as an example, and then you gain enough trust to drive a truck. An apprenticeship is a very good way to earn the company's trust and you get some experience regarding the logistics side of the transportation branch in general.
I'm lucky to have a trump card or two regarding truck driving. No matter which transmission the truck got, I can drive it. Learned it all through driving schools. Plus I'm a natural driving Scania trucks. O.o
