[SOLVED] Extreme Lag in Menu/Pause Screen HELP
This has been a ongoing problem for a while now and it's making the game almost unplayable. My problem is when ever I press F1 or Esc to get to the menu/pause the game starts lagging really badly. I have uninstalled/unsubscribed to every mod, deleted my profile and done a fresh install but its still happening.

My drivers are updated and the game is updated. It used to work absolutly fine. Please help I just want to play the game :(

Thanks

try restarting the pc

I have tried that and everything :(

"OS Install Date: Jan 01 1970"...this made me giggle, the games get more and more demanding as time goes by, looking at the bottom of your details im guessing you need to free up some space on your hd and have a good defrag, probably worth running a registry cleaner too....something like ccleaner for reg cleaner and auslogics defrag for defraging, the game is beyond the 2 gig vram barrier now so your gpu wont be up to scratch , may be stick a gtx 1050 ti or 1060 in there to have a chance.

Try to copy-paste content of your game.log.txt file (found in "My Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\" folder) on pastebin.com then paste here the generated link. Maybe you got an absurdly high FPS while on menues, try to activate VSync if it is not already on.

I will do this once I am at my computer. Also just to say my game is on a SSD and I have tried to move it too and from my HDD.

And like I said my PC used to handle it fine on ultra and whenever I tab out and back in it fixes it's self until I go back into the menu from driving

Did you try to activate VSync in-game? Do you have more than needed input devices? Try to unplug those in excess. Can you be more accurate about since this issue started? Try to remember if something in your PC changed.

I have activated VSync and I have only one input device plugged in which is my steering wheel. However when I launched just now it was fine but when I moved my steering wheel it started lagging again. This started probably around 25th of Febuary after I had taken a long time off of this game. Previously it was fine and I got some more RAM but apart from that nothing else changed

My steering wheel is a RS 600 Nano and it registers in games as a STRIKE NX GAMEPAD. My wheel works on all my other racing games (F1 2017, DiRT 4, Asseto Corsa) and it used to work for ETS2. I don't have any drivers installed for it as I cant find them online. There is Strike Nx drivers that worked for DiRT 4

Is your os insatlled on the same ssd

There are some things that looks strange to me, you have these three "devices":
- (\'STRIKE NX GAMEPAD\') from UI control: blacklisted
- (\'Controller (Xbox One For Windows)\') for UI control: known compatible
- (\'@@xinput_gamepad@@ 1\') for UI control: known compatible
The first two got initialized few times, last one just once, but the first one is labeled as ignored.

And then there are those few more strange things:
- 00:02:00.280 : g_remove_missing_accessories
- 00:02:00.280 : "g_remove_missing_accessories" is:"0" default:"0"
- 00:02:22.863 : g_debug_camera
- 00:02:22.863 : "g_debug_camera" is:"0" default:"0"
I seen you have both uset g_developer "1" and uset g_console "1"

Lastly this one:
- 00:04:25.962 : g_mode dx9 1366 768 1 0
- 00:04:29.203 : [gfx] Trying to set 1366x768 60Hz (fullscreen)

While I don't know where to ram my head, I can give you some suggestions about what to do next. Try to play it without your wheel. Try to manually set refresh rate at 60 Hz or 50 Hz (it should be set to Default refresh). Try to launch it with OpenGL. Try to rename your home folder (Euro Truck Simulator 2) to something like ETS2, verify game files, launch the game completely anew (new profile, new everything). I cannot help with your wheel, maybe someone else.
